How do you remove the front headrest from a 92 honda civic LX? I want to put seat covers on but the headrests are mounted on a single post and don't seem to be able to be removed. I tried to pry apart at the seam of the plastic column to see if that was a way of removing the headrest but didn't want to try to hard and and break the plastic. Help!!!!!!!

I have a 92 Accord, which has 2 'posts'. To remove it, you must pull the head rest up as high as it will go, then there is a slide built into the plastic piece (round) the post goes through on the top of the seat. Push it in towards the post, while pulling up on the head rest, it should come out. Let me know if this works.

How do I remove front seat headrest in a 2005 chevy uplander

Raise the headrest to its maximum height. Examine the plastic covers the headrest posts stick out of. You are looking for a slide button or a pin hole on the side of the mounting hole.
If there isn't a release button or pin hole they are under a trim cover.
With a small flat screwdriver gently lever the small round cover upwards. This should reveal the release trigger.
If there is no slide button, look for a pin hole on the side of the mount. Unfold a paper clip and insert it into the pin hole. You should hit resistance, move the headrest and paper clip around and the headrest should release and slide out.

Front headrest removal for seat covers(?)

there should be a button on the base of the posts that support the headrests (where the posts meet the rest of the seat.) that should allow you to pull the headrests out.

2012 honda cvcc headrest

I had the same problem with mine and already having a herniated disc in my neck didn't help. What I did was unzip the back of the seat cover and insert some foam into the back of the seat. This pushed the front of the seat out just enough to keep the headrest from pushing my head forward. It only cost a few dollars and you can't tell by looking at the seat that I did anything at all to it. Now it's very comfortable and my neck is happy. Only thing is I don't think you can do this to the front passenger seat without interfering with the airbag sensor. At least that's what I would surmise based on the fact that they didn't put the seat heater in the back of that seat for that reason. But I never ride in the passenger seat so it's not an issue for me and no one else has complained about it. Now that I've fixed this one problem I love my Civic.

2012 Honda Civix EX - Big Problem w/front seat headrests

I had the same problem with mine for the first month I drove it. Already having a herniated disc in my neck didn't help. What I did was unzip the back of the seat cover and insert some foam into the back of the seat. This pushed the front of the seat out enough to keep my head from being pushed forward by the slanted headrest. The headrest is still right behind my head but it is no longer pushed forward painfully. You can't tell that I did anything to the seat from looking at it, but now it's comfortable and I love my Civic.

When you lift the headrest to the up position on the plastic sleves at the bottom of the metal rods for the headrest you should find a small hole on one side.Take a small pin or nail and push in the hole and lift up that will release the headrest

How can I remove front row seat headrest?

Most volvo headrest can be removed by releasing the catches which are on the back of the headrest on some models and on the front on others I believe on 960 they are on the back. To release the seat on a 960 look where the shafts should be then follow it down on the back where the seat back top stops then goes in press around that area you should be able to find the catch there pull up on the headrest while releasing the catch you have to do this on both sides. The headrest should come off this also works on 740 and 760 series the volvo 780 is a different story the only way to get the headrest off on that is to disassemble the seat

Front Headrests

There is a plastic cover, about 1 1/8" diameter, on the base of the post on each side. You can remove it with a screw driver by carefully prising upwards at the edge. They just clip down.
Once these are lifted away from the seat, you will see the wire clip that locks the headrest into the seat. Remove the clip on each post, and you can then remove the headrest.
Reassembly is the reverse.

Headrest removal

Look at the top of ur seat, between the two shafts of ur headrest. Beside one of the posts is a black plastic base on which one side has a button u push. That allows u to remove the headrest. U might have to jimmy side to side a bit as they are somewhat hard to remove at times, just do so with ur finger pushing the release mechanism.
