Won't start but lights and radio work. It did this 3 times before ( in about a 2 week span) but eventually started after sitting a few minutes. The lights don't seem to dim when I try to start it. I came home from work and tried again and it tried to turn over a couple times than nothing.

Try to put the transmission in neutral and start it, this will eliminate the problem from the neutral safety switch.
if the car still won't start then go to the starter with a test light
connect the test light to a good ground or negative post on battery
touch the light on the small wire on the starter and have some one try to start the engine
if the light lits then the starter is bad
if the light is not lit then the ignition switch

You need to replace your starter solenoid.
Many people just go buy a new starter when a new solenoid is all they actually need. These are usually located on the starter itself, and disassembly/replacement is quite self explanatory.

Car won't start totally dead no radio, lights

Charge it, or hook up jumper cables, wait a few minutes before you actually try to start it. Make the ground to the running engine the last connection you make.

Have to boost then it won't stay running

just had the same problem and i ended up having to change the altenator, for 2 or 3 weeks i would have to bang on the altenator with a hammer while it was running because my battery light would keep coming on. but after a few taps with a hammer you could actually here it start working again. i did that one to many times and broke the housing on the altenator and eventually had to replace it.

2001 Cadillac Deville problems starting

I have had the same problem and I have come to the conclusion it is the security system. After 3 minutes the car will start so there is nothing wrong with the battery or starter. I have had it to the dealer a few times and they cannot solve it. It may be the locks on the doors and they may not be resetting properly. I have learned to live with it.
