On these hubs, there is the ABS sensor that controls many things like ABS and Traction control on alot of cars. Check to make sure the sensor is plugged in properly and not cracked. Clean gear on spindle that abs sensor is real close to to get good signal

What could I check to see why my abs don't work on my 95 chevy k1500? They haven't worked since I've owned the truck 6 years? I run large tires 315x16" could that be a problem?

Was the wire repaired? The only way to check your abs system is to have a service facility scan it for error codes. Auto Zone does some scanning for free, but don't know if abs scan is included. You could call your local Auto Zone and ask them. Larger tires shouldn't cause the abs light to come on. Good luck.

Why is my abs light on in my 03 chevy? and on the passanger side the front tire is roaring really bad when i drive, please help

Ok, there are sensors on your front wheel hubs. This could easily cause the abs light to turn on. The loud noise could easily be your wheel hub going bad. Easiest way to check, jack up the front of the truck, grab tire, shake back and forth and up and down. Same amout of play each way? You're wheel hub is bad.......

95 silverado 4WD ABS light

The best way is to get a scan tool and monitor the speed sensors while driving and see which one is dropping out.One other thing is when you replaced the sensors, did you clean the surface area real good? You have to remove all the rust from the surface where the sensor seats.Because sensor has to have the correct gap. When rust builds up the gap gets to big and will cause the light to come on and the brake pedal to pulsate. The other thing is the ring inside the hub bearing will have a hair line crack in it and this will cause the same result. This means you have to replace the hub bearing.Hope this helps.Good luck.

Abs comes on then i restart the car and the light

Check the ABS sensor at the front wheel hubs, it may just need to be sprayed down with brake cleaner. Remove the front wheels and inspect the ABS sensors and wire leads, Check the gap between the sensor and the speed ring and Re-gap if necessary. Pay attention to the drivers side first, since that hub was replaced and the sensor may need to be re-gaped to the new wheel hub, or cleaned since the sensor is magnetic and may have pick up some metal filling from replacement of the old hub. Good luck and this is an easy fix, can be done in under 1 hour.

All the hubs on the car have the abs sensor built into the hub. The abs system has to be re set to read the sensor . The rear hub bearing if noisy should be replaced. There are wiring harnesses that connect to the abs sensor. The harnesses to each of the abs sensor should be replaced.
