White smoke is water/antifreeze mixing with fuel burning off causing steam more than likely blew head gasket - slight noise can be the thinned oil/anti-freeze mixture running thru ur engine letting metal hit metal -dont run engine if let run to long in this condition will do extreme damage that only an engine replacement will fix

If u r not losing any coolant. Than have the fuel regulater check. If this is ok than check it for possible blown head gasket.

White smoke and oil coming in the exhaust and smoke gets heavy when i get the engine running faster. What causes this problem?

Engine block is cracked. So oil and water are mixing with fuel. You need a new block or buy new car

2001 chevy prizm jerks when in gear heavy smoke out of exghuast

It will help Matt if you would have said what color the smoke is thats coming out the tailpipe. White heavy smoke will be antifreeze getting in the combustion chamber.Could be head gasket, cracked or warped head.Black smoke would be fuel system pumping gas in making it run rich,And not able to burn the fuel completly.

97 es 300 car runs great stopped at store 30 min when restarted heavy white smoke

White smoke means water is getting into the engine from teh coolant system. Likely that your engine cylinder head has a crack, or head gasket is bad

White smoke coming from tailpipe? Slight knocking noise. 99 Camry.

White smoke or steam? Smoke is oil buring and steam is coolant steaming. If this is steam, you have a blown head gasket...if oil, it could be either a oil ring problem or a valve seal problem.

White smoke coming from the muffler, loud noise...

One potential cause is too much gas. It may be running "rich". Your car may also be burning a little oil. White smoke is water or antifreeze. If you are loosing coolant from the radiator, it's probably a blown head gasket. If not, it is just condensation in the exhaust pipe that is evaporating as the pipes heat up. If the car is running too rich, the unburned gas will cause black smoke and burning oil smoke will be blue.

Hope helps (remember rated this).
