theres large amount of white smoke from the exhaust

  • Anonymous Mar 08, 2010

I didn't replace anything the only strange smell comes from the exhaust smell like coolant

  • Anonymous Mar 08, 2010

if white smoke was coming from the exhaust and a the oil smells like theres a gas getting in it could it be that all id have to replace would be the fuel pressure regulator

If you don't have a water pump leak, radiator leak, or a blown freeze out plug, you probably have a blown head gasket.

did you have something replaced recently? could be burning it or it is leaking out. any strange smells in vehicle especially with heat on?

Better start looking carefully for leaks or excessive white smoke from exhaust!! I can't tell you where the leak is, but coolant does not disappear! It IS going somewhere!! Check engine oil and make sure it's not going inside, check that there is no kind of oil in the coolant and use a flashlight and get under there and look!

What you have described is a classic blown head gasket condition.
DO NOT drive it any further than absolutely necessary (towing is better) Forget about fuel pressure regulator...when there is steam in the exhaust the O2 sensors cannot read properly and can cause excessive fuel to be introduced into the engine. (entire fuel management system is thrown "off kilter".) Before driving or running the engine after the repair, have the engine oil changed to remove any contamination.
Remember...don't drive it or you will do serious internal engine damage.
good luck!

Heater core is probably leaking. There is a tray with a hole in it . so you wont get coolant on the floor like the old vehicles. A radiator pressure tester can confirm this.

My 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee smells like the coolant is leaking. I have checked and can find no visible leaks nor puddles of coolant where I park. I topped off the coolant reservoir and was stunned to...

if you have no external leaks then it sounds like you could have a possible leak into the oil system(you would have a milky look to the oil) or the head gasket may have a small leak and the car is burning coolant but not big enough to overheat yet.you should have the system pressure tested as you could have an external leak small enough that the heat of the motor could be drying it before it accumulates enough to drip off the motor and yet smell.also the heater core could have a small leak in it and not show a leak.

My jeep says performe services what does that mean

New vehicles on the road now a days keep track of the service intervals in relation to the miles driven. All your car is telling you is that it wants to go to the dealership for maintenence before any failures happen. This is not a check engine light telling you there is a problem, it's letting you know that it needs to be checked out so there is no problems later down the road. I hope this helps, please rate if i did.

Thank you

My 94 Jeep grand Cherokee power steering fluid is leaking. I fill up the fluid and a day later the fluid is all gone.

The lines coming off the unit are probably to blame, one is a high pressure line. Look for leaks around the fittings on both lines.
