It could be a number of things, I would ask a question as to what color the fluid is? Red or green could be coolant, red or pink could be transmission fluid and brown or black is usually oil. As far as location of the source, remember these fluids are fairly dense and a teaspoon full looks like a mess because they tend to spread rapidly over most surfaces due to there petroleum make up. So, just because it is showing up on the bottom does not make it a bottom issue. If you need more information about this repair please fell free to contact me at [email protected], I have over 30 years of automotive experience to assist you, thanks.

You have several points to check one leak there; first I suggest clean all the area and parts under vehicle, road few time and re-check again.

Its possible that the "black box" that you mentioned is the oil pan; check your Jeep ZJ Repair Manual.

Tell us news. Good luck.

Where do you check the power steering fluid? I think mine is leaking if it is reddish in color.

There is a reservoir attached to your power steering pump, which is mounted on the front of your engine. A stick gauge is attached to the reservoir cap when you remove it. Add the proper power steering oil directly into that reservoir if needed. Do not overfill, respect gauge mark.

If it's a power steering fluid leak, most probable it comes from a bad seal of your steering box pitman arm shaft. If it's the case, you can verify it, looking from under the vehicule, the bottom of your gear box will be covered of dirty oil.

However, reddish color fluid leak could also come from the cooling circuit of your automatic transmission or from the pan of your transmission. In conclusion, a visual check by under the vehicule will help to diagnose the origin.
Hope it will help.

I need to remove power steering pump on 95 Jeep

first, be certain that you need a pump. Clean whatever gushed from pump. run with cap on pump and look again for leaks. aside from a leak did you have any other problem with the steering? Most common source of leaks are, from the high pressure hose to the pump (the one with the metal crimped on ends not the one with the hose clamp on it. next is the seal around the shaft pulley. next is down below from the seal around the shaft coming out of the steering box (it connects to an arm about seven inches long that attaches to the rest of the steering components. Fluid gushing from pump is not generally a symptom I've encountered from a bad pump unless it's been over-filled and run with cap off... So, this is important. Post back and tell me what you find and verify.

Transmission fluid leak

Transmissions can leak anywhere there is a seal, fitting or gasket. Most common leaks are at the trans pan gasket and fittings.. However, to find a leak the only way is to get under there and look. A mid sized leak will clean off road debris and leave a track. Keep in mind that all leaks run down and that while driving this can be blown towards the rear of the vehicle. If you find a suspicious area, clean it off with a rag & some solvent and run vehicle...watch that area for seepage. Also check cooling lines to radiator. Fluid coming from inside bellhousing indicates a bad front seal (requires trans removal to repair) Fluid should be (for aw4 units) Mercon, or any quality synthetic that covers mercon application.

Where is the horn relay located on a 95 jeep grand cherokee?

On my 95 Jeep Cherokee Laredo, the horn relay is in a compartment under the glove box. Open the glove box and remove the three screws in the front on the bottom. Take the plastic cover out and you'll see a bank of relays. The horn relay is the one on the far left, closest to you.

95 jeep wrangler overheating and hissing sound

Had the same problem on my 95 Wrangler within the last month. I was told that the radiators on Wranglers tend to wear out, and don't push fluid through after 10 years or so. I decided to 'fix' everything at the same time. I replaced the radiator, the radiator hoses, and the water pump. That stopped the leaking, and fixed the problem. Water pumps run less than $50, and is actually something you can do yourself. I'm not mechanically inclined, but I needed to save the labor charges from the mechanic, so I took at shot. I had no problems. It does help to have an extra pair of hands to replace the serpentine belt.
