I am trying to figure out how to get the door panels off of a 1987 nissan pathfinder without breaking hard to replace parts. I get as far as the power window controls and can't seem to find the trick to get them free.

I use a flatLfork tool to pop the clips off around the outside, then leave the controls on the panel.
When you get the panel off, then unplug the controls from behind.

The is a bar that's runs up to the lock and is held in place by a plastic clip they all break eventually replaced a hundred of them good luck it's not hard but you have to take the door panel off and go through a small hole to do it
take the door panel off. somewhere where the bar that goes from the lock to the latch it has come off. sometimes all that holds them on it a little clip and that clip will break. you will have to take it apart to figure out what is broke before you can know what to buy to fix it.
On the inside trim, you can remove screws that are by the door handle,
arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the
panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want
to break them. You'll need to lift the door panel upwards in order to
get it off the window ledge. Pull back the weather seal if you have one and you'll be able to remove the bolts and rod connecting to the outer handle
for such good old car may be u should install a choke or just give me a hint about date of last maintenance for ur engine

FIRST TRY TO SEE IF THE FUSE AND RELAY ARE FUNCTIONING PROPERLY. IF THEY CHECK OUT THEN CHECK FOR SPARK AT EACH ONE OF THE SPARK PLUGS. IF YOU ARE GETTING SPARK THEN I WOULD REPLACE THE CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR. THIS DEVICE IS RESPONSIBLE FOR OPENING INJECTORS AND SPARK PULSE THROUGH THE COMPUTER. HOPE THIS HELPS.
