There is a fuse on the back to the stereo but that would make everything with the radio not work. Unless if your cd player is separate from the radio you could pull it out and check to see if it has a fuse.

The bad news is sometimes the laser in the cd player goes out and they no longer work.

Good Luck,

Which fuse is the cd player in the fuse box

One circuit is constant power to keep the clock and station pre-set memory maintained. The other is for the radio in general. If the clock works, pull both radio fuses and put them back in one at a time to see which one is constant power. If one of them is blown, you can usually see the wire inside it is burned with a gap. I don't believe there is a separate fuse for the CD player apart from the one for the radio. If the radio works but the CD player doesn't, I'm guessing it's an internal problem.

Multi disc cd player stopped working..the screen reads disc checking, but will not play or eject the discs...ironically this happened about the same time we had a new battery installed..the radio part...

Figure out what fuse controls the CD player and, with no key in the ignition, pull the fuse out for a minute (or more - I've seen TSBs that say leave the fuse out for 10 minutes), then replace it (theory being that the fuse acts as a reset button). If you cannot find the fuse, you can disconnect the negative battery cable, but you'll lose your radio presets and other settings. Make sure you have any codes for your radio that may be required since disconnecting the battery cables can cause the radio to quit working too. This fuse trick seems to have the greatest chance of success overall. Check your owner's manual - you may have more than one fuse that controls the CD and/or the radio and you may need to remove all the related fuses.

My radio and Cd player quit working on my 98 Acura Cl. Also, the brake light on the passenger side quit working. It isn't the bulb, though.

sounds like you have a burnt fuse locate your vehicles fuse box and check the radios fuse. The tail light not working may be a short if you have power to the drivers side brake light.

MY TRAILBLAZER CD PLAYER QUIT WORKING, CAN'T GET CD'S IN OR OUT, RADIO WORKS FINE NO HOME RECORDED CD'S EVER PUT IN

The motors inside the players tend to burn out. You will have to remove player, remove top cover and cradle of the player, and remove your cd. Than either have new motor put in your player or purchase a new player mabey from ebay or equivelant.

Think there is a battery drain somewhere

Their is possibly a short. I would first isolate the problem. Disconnect the CD player and radio. If you can disconnect it then remove the radio fuse.

Start and drive the car for 15 minutes or so. Shut it off, and let it sit for a while. Then go out and start the car. Repeat this until you are sure that your problem is with the radio or wiring.

If The car fails to start and is having a repeat of the problem you have a parasidic draw on the battery from somewhere.
