my 98 Blazer I had to replace radiator water pump heatercore and hoses. Had head gasket go. Once that happens air and dexcool corrode cooling system. Do you smell antifreeze? Are you loosing antifreeze? Check oil see if its another color not clear or black but i think light brown. Have you flushed out system?
I do not think the color matters, just read the label what temperatures it operates properly as some a green, some blue and some orange, I personally use the orange ELF antifreeze with operating temperatures from -23 Celcius to +50 Celcius
Prestone sells a orange colored antifreeze that can mix with any possible other brand of antifreeze.
They have it at Wall Mart.
I've used it and even mixed it with VW brand antifreeze.
get a mechanic to have a look ,water level low hence the heater is cold and ac taking a long time to cool because the fan isnt starting up when ac is turned on ,Sounds like your fan is playing up and you may have cooked the head gasket??
If you can't find it or if its stuck (they often are, remove the lower hose. it's faster and easier. (don't do this hot...unless you like really hot antifreeze baths) It helps to leave the radiator cap on till you get the hose off. the antifreeze comes out with a bit less force. Good luck!!
