Are you sure the battery is a good one. If the engine dies when you disconnect the battery cables that tells me there is no power in the battery and the engine is running because the alternator is putting power to the engine. I have a feeling you have a dead battery.
Could be the battery or alternator. Try this. Disconnect the battery cable, either neg or pos doesn't matter. Leave it unconnected for 5 minutes. Then reconnect. Be sure to tighten screws/bolts that hold the cable clamp in place securely. A loose cable will cause the kind of alert you cited, but if the disconnect resets the entire electrical system, it may not re-occur. Other than the two parts mentioned, there aren't any other parts that would cause the problem. Or maybe a "short" in another area.....try the disconnect first. Good luck Michelle.
Disconnect the battery cable (either post) and leave disconnected for five minutes. Reconnect the cable. See if that makes a difference. By disconnecting the battery, the computer will reset.
immobliser problem ,,,,, or a crash switch has tripped ,,,,try turning on ign and disconnect and reconnect the battery,,, be careful to do it without making slow connections for fear of sparks and leave door open for fear it could lock up ,,,, u may have to lock and unlock using remote after,,, hope this helps
Well test the alternator first. I should think you can do that with a simple voltmeter. It should read between 12 to 14 volts. Only answer I can supply, sorry.
get a12 volt test light (autozone or any part store) . disconnect negative battery. connect light between negative terrminal of batteryand negitive cable if light lights something is useing battery power remove bulbs lighting hood and trunk until test light does not light disconect anything electrical until the test light goes out. if you disconnect alternater and it goes out replace alternator. if this was helpful please leave good feed back
have you tryed resetting your computer? you might need to try that by diconnecting the positive side of battery for 5mins.that should reset the whole system, just make sure your radio does'nt have to be recoded after you disconnect battery. i hope this helps you out!!!
