Remove dash face plate around radio there will be small screws or studs with nuts around the sides of radio attached to a mounting plate. Unhook wire harness on radio and pull from dash

first read this. for your engine, and car. you will see all its tie in points. on some cars the ECU is defeated until the alarm (immoblizer) tells ECU , all is good. RTM i do this for many people, and that is how i do it. i RTM.
Get your hands on another am antenna....any one will do and attach it to your radio. If that clears it up replace the wire and antenna. If that does not then move to the radio as the suspect. The other thing I need to ask is how long have you had the car and has the AM worked on this before?
pre standard year, for radio colors, sorry. there are 2 colors, factory harness side and radio side, i presume you mean Radio side? (the radio side of conn?)

1st look under the dash and see if it is bolted in place or is there a sleeve in which it resides ...if so it should simply pull out otherwise it may be bolted in from behind the radio
starters are actually pretty easy. usually just 2 or 3 bolts holding it on. Just disconnect the battery first. Remove the bolts and the starter and then installation is reversal of removal. Hope this helps, Lee
