I have a 97 civic I am not getting fuel or spark

Most likely Camshaft sensor, located in distributor, is just the right age for that problem.

Idle fluctuates severly on 1998 honda civic

This problem can arise due to the following reasons:
- Air leak in the intake manifold.
- Vacuum hose leak.
- Throttle body gasket leak.
- Idle speed control valve stuck open due to the carbon deposits.
- Valve clearance too less.
- Ignition system faulty. (shorted spark plugs, spark plug wires, ignition timing too late or too early).

I have a 99 chevy malibu with a misfire in cylinder 1 and I have already replaced the coil packs and the spark plug on that cylinder but the miss fire continues. Any Help really need to get it fixed by...

If you have a 3,1 motor, there's a very good chance your lower intake manifold gasket is allowing coolant into cylinder 1 and keeping it from firing. Number 1 is right next to a coolant port, ant the 3.1/3,4's are very well known for intake gasket failure.

Ive replaced dist cap and rotor coil is firing but no fire to plugs

check for power to the coil, if there is no power...its a possible ignition switch failure. The ignition switches in these models have defective internal contacts, resulting in power loss to vital electrical components. You may check the ignition switch by removing the plastic cover around the steering column. Its a white round plastic unit with wires coming out, and located behind the key cylinder. Inspect for internal archs or black/burnt residue. Call you local Honda dealer for recall info, they will need your vin#...Hopefully this helps
