The easiest way to find a coolant leak, is to take it to
your mechanic and have him/her do a pressure test
on it.(5 min) The way coolant can run across the engine and engine compartment means the fluid on the ground may not even be close to the leak.
Under pressure the leak will show itself more clearly.
Hope this helps.

Why am i lousing antifreeze from my reserivor?

Don't worry bad spelling is OK, Pending on the year make & model (they basically all work the same) Have the cooling system pressure tested for holding PSI. Do you see any white smoke at the exhaust pipe? white spark plugs? Any oil or anti freeze mixing in the radiator or the oil? Dripping from the tailpipe? any of the above, HEAD Gasket, cylinder head, or Intake manifold gasket. We have a Rotten egg smell w/ the heater fan on, wet pass. floorboard? If so then the heater core might be leaking. If the floorboard isn't saturated w/ AF it could be leaking into the firewall. Start w/ the basics, fill rad & overflow to spec., pressure check, ck plugs emissions test, oil coolant mixing. It's rough sometimes but it's going somewhere! Good luck, Frank M

Hello drmenefee,

The coolant is probably coming from the water pump just to the right facing of the harmonic balance pulley the bottom most loop. See the diagram below.

Overheats and stalls at lights

you should first FIX the leak. if not enough coolant, the sensor won't activate the radiator fan, thus overheating occurs.

Heater blowing cold air

If there is a internal antifreeze leak, there will be antifreeze mixed in your oil. Check your oil. If there is antifreeze in there, you probably have a bad head or base gasket. Worst case scenario is your block is cracked somewhere. Check your heater core and the lines as well. If the heater core is bad it will be leaking.
Check the thermostat housing for a leak. Sometimes
the antifreeze will leak from there, and burn on top of the exhaust instead of dripping onto the ground. Good luck

2001 Hyundai Accent. Heating and stalls

If the water tends to keep going down then there has to be a leak somewhere. Try also looking at the hose coming from the overflow tank and see if the hose might be kinked. You might also be blowing antifreeze out the tailpipe. Take a look and if there is bluish white smoke then you have confirmed that theory,

Antifreeze leaking

it's possible the gasket was not seated properly... or there is a small hose in the back.... it's likely you'll need to put it on a lift and look at it from below to see.... just look for a lime green colour fluid.
