Have you checked your coolant level? Is your car overheating? Sounds like it could be overheating. I have seen cars do that exact thing when they were ran completely out of water. Just thought I'd ask if you had checked that possibility out yet. Hope I could help you out.
It is located between the radiator and the motor, back towards the transmission. You should be able to get to it from underneath. You have to work around the cradle, but you can get to it.
Disconnect the negative battery cable. Support the vehicle on jack stands. From under the car disconnect the wires from the starter and mark/tag them for reinstallation. Remove the 2 mounting bolts from the starter and remove the starter. Reverse this proceedure to reinstall.
