This code is for the EGR valve. IT may just need cleaning or there is a vacuum leak to it. Best way to clean it is to take it off the manifold and using a brass brush and a chop stick to push into the ports.

P0404 is an exhaust gas recirc problem, referencing the egr valve. replacing it might work. but it is better to troubleshoot it as the are other parameters involved in it's operation

P0404 is an EGR valve problem.
Most are vacuum operated and is set off when the position doesnt match the expected one set by the PCM... however, depending on your location - the van may be equipped with an electrically actuated one that will need to be re-programmed at the dealership.

I have a 2010 dodge grand caravan.replaced both 02 sensors and cat.now i have a code po138 and po404.what does that mean.

P0138 - Oxygen Sensor Circuit High Voltage (Bank 1 Sensor 2)

Fault codes never say to replace parts. They only indicate the circuit or system that needs further diagnosis. The only way to set this code is to have a break in the sensor's ground wire or the signal voltage wire is shorted to the 12 volt heater wire for that sensor. Start by looking for a corroded terminal in the sensor's connector or a terminal that got stretched or pushed out of the plug body. Next, check the wiring harness for signs of melted wires, especially where they travel near hot exhaust parts.

If you haven't found the cause by this time, use a scanner to view live data and look at the sensor's voltage compared to the passenger side sensor. If it's normal, you have an intermittent problem that isn't currently acting up. Try flexing on the wire harness to see if the voltage changes. If the voltage IS high, unplug connectors going to that sensor and wiggle harnesses until the voltage changes. That will help you narrow down the location of the problem.

2005 dodge caravan p1684 & p0344

Code 1684 means the computer has lost power since the last check, usually from disconnecting the battery.
Code 344 means the cam sensor on bank one is not always sending a signal to the computer. It could be a wiring problem or something with the actual camshaft.

Code u0155 Chrysler sebring what does code mean

U0155 LOST COMMUNICATION WITH CLUSTER/CCN

There is a communication problem between the cluster & the PCM. It may be as simple as a bad connection at the connectors behind the cluster or maybe as bad as a bad PCM. Start with simple things first. Does the CEL light when you turn the key on? After you clear the codes (if any) does the display say "DONE"? Test the CEL by leaving the gas cap loose or off & starting the engine & see if it throws a code.

That would be a good start. Use some WD-40 to displace moisture and help resist corrosion.

What will be wrong if I got code p0406 and p 404

both codes po406 and po404 refer to a fault in the EGR system
Po404 > Exhaust Gas Recirculation Circuit Range/Performance not within proper range.
Po406> Exhaust Gas Recirculation Sensor A Circuit High (meaning the circuit is open or disconnected)
Without actualy checking the voltages (wiring)
Replace the EGR valve

2001 dodge caravan p0700 code

Hello! Well - both of these codes are in reference to shift pack issues. P0700 is related to torque management, designed to reduce the RPM's at highway speed and lock up the torque converter. If it's throwing this code, there is a strong likelihood that the clutch packs are damaged. P0740 is directly related and will most likely result in the need for the clutch packs being replaced. I wish I had better news to report. :(

Hope this helps and good luck!

Jumping and skipping, feels like the car might just die

That is an EGR code, replace the EGR valve and it should run fine again.

2006 caravan odomiter says gas cap

On the gas cap itself theres a rubber o-ring.If thats quashed in any way you'll need to replace it.Sometimes takink the o-ring off and putting it back on fixes the problem. Its a very common problem ans is not that expensive to fix..The reason the code keeps coming back is because its a pressurize system and if theres a leak in the system it will throw the light in the dash..
