I have a N reg volkswagen Golf and when I tried to press the immobilizer it wouldn't work, although the light on the fob was ok. I opened the car door with the key and the engine started fine but the hazards are now on constantly and I can't turn them off. I have tried locking and unlocking using the key but that doesn't work. When I lock the car with the key it stops but as long as the engine runs the lights flash! Any help would be great as I have just driven an embarrassing 20 miles with every motorist flashing and pointing...
Sounds like the security part of the system went bad
take the key fob to the dealer and have it reflashed
if that fails replace the security computer or you can disconnect it from the car you won't have the system but the hazards won't come on unless you turn them on
