Sometimes the car starts sometimes it doesn't...when it doesn't, if you wiggle the battery cables it will start. we checked the battery, it's good, only a year old. Also, when you're driving, sometimes the radio and all electrical will go out inside...the car is still running but everything else shuts off and then comes back on.

If it will start after you 'wiggle' the battery cables, you don't have a tight connection. Remove the cables, clean all the connections with a wire brush, then make sure you firmly attach cables. Connections MUST be clean and tight. If you continue to have trouble, check the connections at the other end of the cables (starter and ground), as the 'wiggle fix' may be a loose or dirty connection at the other end of the cables. This is probably also the cause of your elec. problems, hopefully once connections are cleaned and tightened properly, all will be fixed.

What causes my 97 ford explorer not to start? it clicks but wont start.i got the starter checked and it pass.coil pack tested good and the battery is new. what else could be the problem?

you need to takes a good look at the battery cables. sometimes the cables burn or pull apart inside the insulated outer sheath and can cause this, also check for poor connections at both ends of the cables(corroded) loose. this doesn`t happen often but it does. take and disconnect the cable and pull hard it should not stretch or fell soft when pulling.

I have a 2005 nissan frontier that I changed the battery and now it starts but shakes and then sometimes starts

If it doesn't start every time I would double check for loose connections on the battery terminal. When it doesn't start, try wiggling the battery connections and try starting it again. Then you would want to fix the loose terminal connections. The spark plug gap does seem to be a bit big. I would just make a phone call to your local auto part store and they can tell you the exact gap that it should be.

2002 Ford Taurus, V6 3.0 won't start. Attempted to start, but stop mid start. No clicking, just slience. What else?

Just to the left of the battery is the main fuse junction box and below that under the manifold is the starter with the solenoid on top with the positive cable going to the starter check for a loose connection, and the battery ground sould be right there nearby the starter grounded to the block check it also. You could have a bad cable although it may look okay under the insulator the copper cable may be damaged test with a volt meter while moving the pos and neg cables at both ends.

If the starter, alternator and battery are good; it could be a bad cable.sometimes the cable itself corrodes inside, i might try to change the battery cable altogether.

Car dies, battery good, wiggle the + cable, we can start again

Make certain that the cable is snug on the terminal. you should be able to hold it with your hand and not move it. You can try replacing the cable, but if that doesn't remedy the situation, then it is DEFINATELY the battery. A battery that old is on the verge of failure!

Crank no start, spark frome coil and plugs also good fuel pressure

Check to make sure your battery cables are completely clean and tightened with no wiggle room on your battery terminals

I know this sounds like a silly thing to suggest, but is a very common problem. Even a little bit of debris, calcium, rust or dirt can cause a small disconnection and cause the jeep not to start. Even the smallest bit of wiggle room on the battery cables can cause this as well.
