instead of fixing the broken column go to local salvage yard and replace the entire column it should take you about 2 hours to replace it not even that. it is too much of a hassle to fix a broken part in the column itself and the repair will not always help out in the long run.

1995 ford explorer I, feel sorry for you, after reading your problem, but don't worry you visit the Reliable-Store they will help you for sure.

At the transmission. About half round, usually 2 of 3/8" or 7/16" short bolts holding it on if I remember correctly. You'll see wire harness going into it.
