I have a 1990 Ford F150 with a 302. the truck has

I have a 1990 Ford F150 with a 302. the truck has a rough idle recently and really struggles when I'm not in gear. (its a 5 speed man.) I replaced the fuel filter...still stalls when its in neutral...could it be the egr? What are some other possibilites I can look at?

Possible Vaccum leakage. Check the mounting bolts/nuts at the carburetor/throtle body and intake manifold for tighteness.
1 Make sure all vacuum hoses are in place and in good condition.
2. Cracked distributor cap or possible moisture in it.
3. Check spark plugs
4. Perform fuel pressure test
5. Check your coil and ignition system
6. Pluged PCV valve or leaking EGT valve.

First question is - is the check engine light on ?
If so you need to start with the trouble codes in the computer.
Could be a faulty injector or coil among other things.
You should have a codes for which cylinder is not firing and other possible problems.

Rough low idle and black smoke
Bad carb or fuel injection issues- the system is fuel rich (black smoke) and also fuel rich system can make the idle low. Many things can cause this but thses are just a few.

Hi check all the fuse. fi the fuse are ok . remove the coil pack and reverce if the cly missifire change replace the coil if not chage replace the electronic comtrol module ok.

Car stalls and idles rough
On thing to check is the air duct hose that connects from the throttle body to the air cleaner housing. If it gets cracked it will cause stalling problems and very rough idle.
