Replace the bulb, you can access the bulb when you open the hatch. there is a cover at the back of the tail lights. or go to your local autozone or pepboys. they will replace it for you with no extra charge

Testimonial: "A friend showed me how easy it was to access the bulb by twisting the holder and then removing bulb. YOur response was excellent as well. Thanks! "

The brake light / stop light is not a bulb on the 04 Prius and later model years. It is an array of LEDs in the tail light assembly and you cannot get to the LEDs because they are sealed in the assembly. You must replace the entire tail light assembly! This is a common problem, they have an intermittent fail mode inside the sealed part of the assembly!

Taillights are not working. Brakes lights and turn signals fine, but no taillights. Checked the fuse and it's okay. Any ideas?

Try unplugging the connector from the brake light switch( under the dash on the brake pedal arm) Install a jumper in the plug and see if the brake lights come on. If they do, the switch is bad. The new switch must be adjusted correctly or the brake lights will stay on all the time. This circuit has power even when key switch is off.

2004 Trailblazer lower taillights not working upper work fine.

Tony, our TB's only have 3 bulbs, 1 brake, 1 running, 1 backup.
If you happened to be playing with NEW LED bulbs (from local retail location) for the brakes, guaranteed you blew the fuse under the rear seat. It takes a special CK socket for the brakes that no one carry's. If you're only dealing with normal incondecent bulbs, I'd still check the fuse under the rear passenger seat.

1992 GMC C1500. Drivers side blinker/brake/hazard light don't work.replaced bulbs. plugged taillight assembly into opposite side and it works so it isn't anything in the taillight assembly. ???????

First check all your fuses.

If all fuses are good, you may have a wiring problem. If you are mechanically inclined, will need to remove the required components to expose wiring and see if you have a break somewhere. Most wiring harnesses run along inside of vehicle trunk. Then, they continue under rear seats and possibly under carpeting.

If all the lights work on a 2006 toyota prius except the tail light, is it possible that I need to switch the fuse?

I had both tail lights out at night. All I had to do was bang each tail light and they would light up. This is what American cars do, not a Toyota. Fortunately, but check for a bad bulb. also check the fuse box if no power is getting to bulbs. I know on the 2007 there was a recall or bulletin on rear taillights, but the best thing to do is call dealer to find out. unless you fix it first! GOOD-DAY !

LEFT REAR TAIL AND LICENCE PLATE LITE WONT WORK. 2004 S-10 CREWCAB

you need to check the brown wire at the rear of the truck on the drivers side.this wire is the taillight wire that also powers the license light.check with a test light for the area of lose of power and repair the wiring.there is a splice that feeds to the taillights and license light.it could be a corroded wire or broken wire.

The door chime and the tail lights and the park lights are not working,,, but the int. lamp is

The first thing to look at is the fuses located under the drivers side steering wheel (near your left foot) there is a plastic cover, remove the cover and look at the diagram on the back side of that plastic cover. Pull the taillight fuse and replace it with the same number identical fuse and your door chime, rear taillights will come back to life. Also check each taillight bulb, sometimes when one of them burns out then all of them stop working.

Will a Prius 2006 rear tail light assembly work in a Prius 2005? They look identical.

2005 was the last year of that Prius design. 2006 started a new design. 2006-2009 use the same tail light.
