This worked for me on 2008 Mk5 Golf, after the rear passenger door would not open fro outside or inside.
Hold the inside door latch open and keep it extended, then with the key fob open and close the door locks (still holding the inside latch open). Keep locking and unlocking the door, then it made a kluck and it released.
Hi,
Usually, when a part of car that is run by battery failed, first
thing to check is the FUSE from the main fuse box or
a fuse box somewhere under the hood. Next is to locate the
motor that drives the sunroof and have a qualified electrical
mechanic check the motor, If the fuse is Ok, and still
stopping, then check motor and you may find that only the
carbon is the problem. If still the carbon is ok and the
sunroof still stop, you may ask the mechanic to check and
test the "Stator" and "Rotor" that has failed and may require
rewinding of the coil wire.
try this first (cheapest remedy first) open the sunroof fully take key out of ignition shut all doors then put the key in drivers door and hold key over 30 secs to unlock car(windows will go down)then wait 30 secs.then put key back in drivers door and hold key over 30 secs to lock car, windows will go up and the sunroof will close.if the sunroof does not shut properly then we start with motor park switch.....
is a cheap alarm. change it wih a proper one. both of you have alarms which is working on the same freqvency. the same alarm, or just weird coincidence.
Before you take the inner door panel apart try to spray an oil like WD40 into the door latch mechanism & Open & close many times. The return spring for the latch has stuck and it needs some waking up. Getting then inner panel off does not help that much in access.
Fuse blown - look for the one with the key symbol it powers windows/locks/interior lights/sunroof operation. Then work out why it blows...could be anything on the circuit so check a lock isn't sticking on/off when operating the central locking.
I understand there are 4 run off points for the water two at the front and 2 at the back.
on my golf i had a problem that the front one was blocked (off side ) if you open the door and look where the hinges are there is a black rubber nipple this was blocked.
I understand the back ones are underneath somewhere - if you do a sear on golf mk4 interior leak you should get the answer to your problem - I hope this information is useful.
