CHECK THE DIMMER SWITCH THAT CONTROLS DASH BRIGHTNESS. THIS OFTEN CONTROLS DOME LIGHT. ALSO MAKE SURE (IF PRESENT) THE MANUAL DOME LIGHT SWITCH IS FUNCTIONING
Do your dash lights work? Check the dash light switch to see if it rotates to control the dome light, it may be turned off completely or the dome light ground wire may be loose. If not the wiring will run from the back of the fuse block through the body post to the dome light Good Luck
you can connect them to your running lights, they just need to run off any power.doesnt matter where you get it from, but if you want them to come on with the lights thats what i would do.un less you power a switch an run the running boards from the switch.just more work that way, also you have to hit the switch everytime at night.
check all fuses one might have blown and this could be a warning sign in the old days if you blew out the tail lights the interior light would come on and the signal indicator for which bulbs but also buy the electrical manual available from ford and search out the wiring there could be a jumped circuit
Negative from the dome light to one terminal on the door jab,and the other terminal, hook to,and run to the other door jam on passengers side. The hot wire from the dome light goes to the hot side on the fuse box.A additional light switch can be installed,to turn the dome light on from inside the car,by running a ground to the switch, and from the switch to the ground side of the dome light.
run a wire from the dome light to the boards and ground the other end to the frame.you will find the wire in one of the pillars next to the windshield.
The wire that runs to the dome light runs along the carpet retainer on the floor of the driver door opening. It then runs up the "B" pillar and over to the dome light.
Have you checked the bulb and the presence of voltage and ground at the dome light socket?
I would start there first before tearing anything apart and make sure all is good.
Let me know.
