How to install new brake light switch on 2008 Ford expedition

On the brake pedal arm under the dash there will be a switch with a yellow pin holding it in place. Remove the pin and remove the switch....watch how it comes apart. You have to put the bushings back in the same way. You might have to rewire the connector for the switch due to design change. Good Luck

I have a 1997 ford expedition which lurches when it runs it sometimes stalls at a light or stop sign. The rpm go from normal to zero then jumps back up again. I've changed the egr valve and the...

The surging usually comes from the IAC hunting to maintain a stable idle. usually your symtoms occur from a vacuum leak of some sort. plastic intakes are sometime found to be cracked from heat embrittlement. spray the top of the engine with brake clean when running. if the idle changes when spraying in a certain area you are locating the vacuum leak. the idle will change when the engine sucks in the brake cleaner.

It jerks the car when I brake and come to a stop, what is it brakes, rear end or trans mission?

Probably transmission software fault - the s type is world famous for it - go on-line and search ''THE LURCH'' then compare your symptoms to what is described. If it is the lurch you have a good chance that the problem can be fixed with the latest Jaguar software update.

I am looking to buy a 1998 ford expedition eddie bauer 5.4 triton engine to pull a trailer dry weight 5526 pounds with a total gvw 7716, will this expedition handle this towing?

It would for short distances but you will notice once you have weight on it that your steering will suffer as well as the brakes as long as it's set up right with trailer brakes and some kind of rear suspension helper(air bags are the best, total adjust ability),also you might want to upgrade the air intake and some other power mods if you are concerned about mpg's then also look at doing a computer upgrade as well.
The biggest problem I had with mine was the short wheel base tended to be very squirmy at highway speeds I had to install stabilizer arms for towing, after that I decided to buy a quad cab truck it ended up being cheaper in the long run.
Hope this helps.

Can i change my breaks on my 2008 Ford Expedition and do i need a kit or do i take it in to get breaks changed?

You can do whatever you want in the way of brake work/service. If you have vertually no experience, your going to need a mentor in your driveway with you or pay someone too much, for most likely not a very thorough job. I know that's a knock on the pros, but you do much better work yourself and have fewer problems, once your learn what needs to be done. You need jack stands to support the vehicle,a few metric tools and should bleed or flush the brakes every couple years. Ever done that?

Brake fluid and anti freeze

DOT Type 3 or better. Look at the brake fluid cap - it will tell you there.

Anti freeze? Go to your full service auto parts store or your authorized Ford Dealer to get the proper anti freeze for your Expedition.

Brake lets go

I wouldn't think that it is normal for any car to do this, but I think you are best to contact a local Dodge dealer, as the vehicle should still be in warranty being so new. Even if for some reason it is not in warranty, they may be able to tell you whether or not it needs repairs.

Lurches after 20-30min driving, worse when brakes applied

unit is junk.... that much metal and debris indicates clutch and hard part damage.
