You probably have the vac assist where the brake is released when you shift out of park.
If the vac hose is broken or otherwise does not work, there is a manual release on the side of the brake pedal where it pivots.
How many wires are you having a problem with? The large gauge red one goes on the stud on the alternator. The two in the plastic connector plug into the square hole in the back of the alternator.
Put some premium or high test gas in the tank and a can of Seafoam. Take it out for a good drive. Sitting for a year or so will cause the old gas to varnish in the fuel lines and injectors. Whyen you park it again, make sure there is NO regular gas in it. Regular gas with ethanol will create havoc with an engine that sits. It makes water.
Automatic ?? You should be able to unlock the doors from the inside and open them. If someone set the child safety locks you may have to remove the door panels and unlock from the inside of the doors.
Hello: I don't know of any free information unless you join a website called AllData but I can explain where the thermostat and Waterpump are located on a Cadillac Northstar engine.
Thermostat: Follow the lower radiator hose from the radiator to where it hooks to the engine. The nipple where the hose connects has 2 10mm bolt heads, remove the bolts, the thermostat is behind it, note the position it comes out so you can install the new one the same way. Waterpump is in the same area, remove the 4 10mm bolts that hold the cover of the Waterpump housing. You may have to remove a heater hose. You will have to have a special tool (can get one at Advance Auto Parts) to remove and install the new Waterpump. Both of these items are on the drivers side on the engine.
Hello, That belt drives the waterpump, if the belt came off then you have a problem. Either the pulley on the tensioner is locked up or the waterpump is locked up. It may have destroyed the pulley on the camshaft that drives the waterpump. Remove the black metal guard that covers the large pulley. Hope this helps to get you started.
There is no easy way, buy a manual and that is gunna be the easiest way, no matter what you have to remove the power steering pump and alternator
