The Wing bolt drain plug is located on the passenger side of the radiator.

If this fails the lower hose is easiest to remove from the water pump.

Hope this tip helps.

How do i drain old antifreeze and put in new antifreeze in my 2002 ford sport trac

For most cars, set your heater temp control to hot, Make sure engine is cold. Open drain on bottom of rad, let it drain down, depending on model the overflow bottle should drain before the rad does, once its drained remove the rad cap and drain to completion. Make sure any spills are wiped up and no open containers of antifreeze are left sitting around. Cats and dogs love to drink it, but it will kill them if they do!

Antifreeze leak from rear of engine on pontiac grand prix

Rule out leak from water pump. What engine is it - 3.0 3.8. Could be intake manifold gasket. Have the cooling system pressurized, about 12 lbs. and look for leak, bubbles.
check oil for coolant in oil also. Possible head gasket leak.

How can you tell if the water pump is the cause of it overheatig. changed thermostat, cooling fans work, flushed radiator.

it will either leak antifreeze out of the weep hole on the pump or the old antifreeze was so old that turned into an acis and ate the blades off the pump. hmmmm. you know what try changing the coolent bottle out, this year intrepid had problems with the bottles going bad, just take my advise about the bottle or go to the delearship and ask their mechanics

Antifreeze leaks out as soon as added to engine. car shuts off as soon as all antifreeze leaks out. what could be wrong? when antifreeze leaks out so badly

Depending on the mileage & other facters unseen I would hesitate a guess! You may have a blown head gasket, A frost plug leak, a water pump leak. Have a rad pressure test done to ascertain the leak location, but you can first check the tail pipe for antifreeze smell, if you smell it you have a head gasket problem. Also check the oil dipstick to see if you have any traces of white residue, an indication of a head gasket leak. I hope this helps & good luck!

Im trying to change the antifreeze but it has only one cap on the plastic and not on the raditor would that be a prob when change

Best way to change the antifreeze is to open the petcock at the bottom of the radiator to drain the antifreeze/coolant. Once completely drained close the petcock and refill. Only other way would be to get a flush kit which involves cutting a heater hose, inserting a T and running a garden hose through the system with the radiator open at the bottom through the petcock while the motor is running.
Hope this answers your question. Good luck!
