The owner's manual doesn't say what the suggested

The owner's manual (89 TOY CAM) doesn't say what the suggested oil change interval is. It's 3000 miles, right?

A good rule of thumb is too change the oil every 1500 not necessary but 3000 is just to far down the road to change oil in a small car half that and the car will last alot longer with good care use castrol oil less of brake down in viscosity

What mileage do you change the timing belt

Hi and welcome to FixYa, I am Kelly
The recommended interval although not posted in the owners manual for the "original" belt is 60,000 miles. There are new replacement OEM / after-market timing belts that you can purchase that have a recommended replacement interval of 90,000 miles. If you are not the original owner and do not know the history of the past engine maintenance, I would at least inspect the installed belt for cracks, traces of oil, missing teeth, and tension. If any of the previouslymentioned problems are noted have the belt replaced. If there is oil on the belt make sure that both the cam and crank shaft seals are replaced when the timing belt is changed. Seals are cheap...!!!! Timing belt changes are expensive and an oil leak will substantially shorten the life of a timing belt.

Thanks for choosing FixYa,
"Seasons Greetings"

How often do I change the oil

3 months interval or after every 3000 miles would be an recommended change by oil companies.

But i personally prefer 4 months interval or after every 3000 miles whichever is earlier would do.

How often should i change the oil in the 2008 dodge charger i was told not till 100,000 miles

Hell no change it to a good synthetic at 3000-4000. once you do you can start every 5000 changes. look in ur manual and see what dodge recomends. I bet its sure is not 100,000.

Change Oil light came on my 2006 Ford Escape Hybrid. I changed the oil my self and the light is still on. How do I make it go away?

The change oil light is controlled by the main engine computer which monitors driving conditions and clock hours. Based on this data it suggest an oil change interval. The system, however has no way to know the oil was changed unless you tell it so. In your owners manual there is a procedure to "reset" this process in the engines computer. its normally done by holding a button and turning the ignition key on at the same time. It should be listed under oil change in the owners manual.

It depends on what kind of oil are you use.Better quality oil lasts longer(5000 miles). If you drive on cheap oil you better change it earlier (3000 miles).

How often do I change the oil in my new Lincoln MKX ...every 2000 km or every 5000 km?

The owner's manual calls for changing oil and filter every 7500 miles in normal service, or if driving in dusty conditions, offroad, or lots of low speed and idling (a taxi or maybe an unlucky commuter), go to the extreme service intervals of 5000 miles. Changing oil every 3000 miles is definitely NOT required.
