How to take the fan clutch off on a 2001,4.3,v6,2wd,chevy S10
There is a special tool for removing the fan but sometimes it will come off by using an adjustable wrench. It has normal threads not reverse threads so to get it off go lefty loosey. What I do is tap the wrench with a dead blow hammer. This seems to help. Then remove the fan clutch from the fan.Reverse procedure for installation.Hope this helps.Good luck.

It comes as a complete assembly in order to take it off u must take the belts loose and remove four nuts just behind blade if you leave the belts tight u risk it flying apart and hitting u.

Have you got a hole in the floorboards????
It could be something loose in the clutch or just something ricochetting around the bell housing.
SOURCE: can i remove oil pan without removing engine 1984
Yes, you can remove the pan without removing the engine. You may have to remove anything preventing you from getting the pan out or you may have to disconnect the engine mounts and raise the engine enough to get the pan out.
