My front suspenssion çlanks and when I am driving at about 55 mph the wheel shakes from one side to the other, the vehicle has oversized wheels and some mechanic said that was the problem and suggested to re install the original wheels, but I like the way the car looks and do not wish to do so. I took the vehicle to a shop for balancing and alignment but it does not help, it continues to shake. What can I do?

The clanking tells me that there is something loose in the front end.. tierod end .. ideler arm ... shock absorber or even some worn bushings. They shoud have found this during the alinement. The conndition of the tires can also casue the shakewhile diriving at high speeds.if it is the wheels that are causing it ... personal safety and the regard for others should be the deciding factor here and put something else on and sell the others on ebay or something.

I have a 98 Oldsmobile Intrigue the code c1226 and c1233 what does these codes mean.the track off ,anti-lock,service soon light are on what does this mean

C1226 Right Front Excessive Wheel Speed Variation
C1233 Left Front Wheel Speed Sensor Input Signal Missing
You could have a bad sensor on the left front wheel or bad wiring. Have it checked by a mechanic. Your anti-lock braking system is probably disabled under these conditions.

My 2002 2 wheel has vibration in front end whan i go 55-60 miles per hour. alot of shake in the steering wheel also. what could be the culprit

Hi Mikey. Take the vehicle for wheel balancing and alignment. Get the technician at the centre to inspect the steering and suspension linkages while he's doing the alignment, but I think wheel balancing will sort out your problem. Regards John

1998 ram shakes at low rpm's (1100-1700) at around 40 mph, but the wheel or steering doesnt shake, its the truck itself shaking. It's not as bad when i get up to 50mph. The check engine light

Start by checking the tie rod ends on both sides on the front wheels..With the truck jacked up and jack stands underneath the frame both left and right wheels should be suspended in mid air..The are two tie rod ends on each side of the vehicle, a inside and outside tie rod..Check for any excessive place on each one...
Also ckeck the balance on all four tire's... Inspect the wheels for any stress cracks that would cause them to not to balance correctly and make your vehicle shake...
Check the transmission mounts on the cross member, make sure the mount is secure to the Trans and cross member mount..Also check both u-joints on the drive shaft and any hanger bearings that may be underneath there..If it's a 4 wheel drive check both drive shaft's...Anyone of these option's could show those
symtom's you mentioned...Good luck and let me know how it works out..

2000 expedition shakes violently when hitting the right kind of bump in the road at 55-80 mph everything in the front end is good what could this be ?

Jeeps have this problem a lot, they call it the death wobble! On the ford it depends on if you have a 2 or 4 wheel drive vehicle, 2 wheel drive have your alignment checked, I've been fooled by them, and if it's a 4x4 you most likely have a bad steering stabilizer shock..

COULD HAVE LOW AND HIGH SPOTS IN THE BRAKE ROTORS.CHECK TIRES FOR DEFECTS.COULD NEED FRONT END ALIGNMENT OR BAD WHEEL BEARINGS CAUSE WHEELS VIBRATION.

When driving my car the steering wheel shakes

If the steering wheel starts to shake between 55-65 MPH then you need to balance the wheels. If it shakes when you press the brakes, your brake rotors are warped and need to be cut or replaced. If the steering wheel shakes at low speeds then it's possible one of your rims is bent or one of your tires is out of round. Leaving a car parked for a long time in snowy and icy roads will damage your tires, causing them to warp. Depending on which situation is causing your steering wheel to shake, have it looked at.

1999 Suzuki Grand Vitara Vibrate/shake at 55-70 mph

Lift the back of your car. With a stable rest and with the two hind wheels hanging, run your car up to the speed where you experienced vibration. have someone take care of the throttle and shifting while you observe the transmission shaft. You may have an imbalanced shaft.
