quite easy in fact ,add half a litre of diesel to the engine oil and three good squirts of fairy liquid ,it has to be fairy and not a cheap one ,then run car for a couple of days as normal and noise should stop, once noise stops change oil and filter ,then change oil every 6000miles without fail with a oil filter every thrid oil change and shouldnt have any more problems
This sounds a lot like a bad TDC (Top Dead Center) sensor. Of the many sensors on this model vehicle, the TDC sensor failure is common and is one of the few sensor failures that will disable your vehicle.
sounds like it could have ignition module failing, also possibly coil starting to go.I seen same problem on 92 hatchback, put module and coil on and runs fine.goodluck...
just off the wall guess here but sounds like oil filter sending unit in the pan these get cloged with old sitting oil use a solution like warner mystery oil in pan with normal oil this will break down old oil after 500 miles replace oil and do it again for 3 + 500 mile oil changes this will help clean out the old oil
also you might have gotten your plug wires wrong in fireing order
