2001 gmc yukon xl was jerking, cut off. will not start.

I have a 2001 gmc yukon xl. As i was driving it kept jerking periodically. Then when I came almost to a stop it cut off. It would not crank back up. I have 1/2 tank of gas and everything comes on and no error lights and the engine turns over fine. Help.

It sounds like the fuel pump might have died, or blew fuse or relay see if it gets fuel at the motor

Check your fuel pressure it should be 60-66 psi with key and engine off.If its not within these specs then replace the fuel pump and filter.Sounds like you may have a low fuel pressure problem.

U-joint repalcement for 2001 yukon xl
Mark your drive shaft coincidenly with the rear axle and tranny. Remove drive shaft. Press out the old u joints and press in the new. You will need a torch for heat and a lot of patience. Have fun!

Check to see if the power steering pump is still turning. If you have a broken drive belt (serpentine belt or "fan" belt), and the pump doesn't turn, you have no power assist. If the pump is still turning, check the fluid level in the reservoir.
