Can you tell me if a 96 sable can be lubed? Or is it a closed system? It has started squeaking a lot since it became cold. I'm not sure if it has lubrication points.

If it happens when the steering wheel is being turned left or right when parking, it could be dry tie rod ends. They will have to be replaced and greased up well to get rid of the sound. This happened to my dad's 1998 Ford Taurus.
The ford taurus and mercury sable are very well know to have coolant pressure, heat problems. I have worked on a minimum of 300 of these specific vehicles in my career, I can tell you the system is a headache, yet manageable. Are you getting cold air through the vents? is the blower motor working?
Is your antifreeze brown in color or goo like? (a tell tale sign of a broken water pump and 90% probability of a clogged heater core.
also other basics, have you flushed the system and checked to make sure the car is not air bound?
try back flushing the heatercore and replace thermostant see if that takes care of problem it should, hope this helps, also make sure coolant is full, but never open radiator cap with a hot engine.
Possibly dirt in the grooves of the belt. remove the belt and clean the grooves with a wire brush. If you get a lot of dirt and powder out of it clean it good and reinstall. Might work. did for mem on my 03 Sebring.
if the car has PATS, you have to have the dealeship program your keys to it, or it won't start. it's in the dash above the glove box, the connector goes thru the firewall and is fastened in with a 10mm bolt
the brake squeal sounds like you have calipers that need to be serviced...basically they need to be taken apart cleaned and lubed....as far as the ecm, with out the codes I cant give an acurate opinion...however if the list of codes is 10 or more long then the odds are goodyear is correct...check your local carquest or napa for the ecm...it may be cheaper for you...hope this helps
Get a friend to turn wheel back and forth in the garage, get on the ground and use your hands to feel where the noise is coming from. Metal gives off a significant amount of vibrations with noise. Should be easy to tell where it's coming from. Could be your rack and pinion, however I would be much more willing to consider ball joints. Hard to tell without getting "down and dirty" on the floor under the vehicle feeling for the noise.
Could be your steering gearbox, tierod end, rack and pinion piston, low power steering fluid, bad serp belt, ball joints, front struts/mounting hardware.
Also test steering with the entire vehicle on the floor and with the front end off the ground lifted by a few floor jacks lifting on the frame of the vehicle.
Ball joints especially on Ford vehicles tend to squeak after a while (mostly since they are the sealed type) even if they pass a safety inspection.
