Need to know which way the belt diagram is for a 2000 ford taraus

If you go on the internet, as you probably already know, some goof ball will want $50.00 to give the wrong routing. The pattern for installing it should be right there on the plate over the radiator unless some has scraped it off which would be hard to do. If it's not there go down to a nearby parts house and see if they don't have a manual that will cover that and a whole lot of other thing for about $10.00 or less. It' the handiest thing you can have. I bought one the other day for a 95 Taraus to find the fireing order and cylinder configeration. Turns out it wired if the cylinder had been where I thought they were. dhgill1949

OK, one doesn't need a belt routing diagram to reinstall a new belt.

Just route the belt so that one by one you put the ribbed part of the belt up against the ribbed pulleys, and the smooth part of hte belt up against the smooth pulleys. Do this until one arrives at the tensioner and release tension with a breaker bar to put the belt on the final tensioner pulley.

Check that the tensioner has enough spring load for the belt to maintain the right friction against all of the serpentine pulleys.

That's all there is to it.

Many auto parts sell an idler pulley to by pass the a/c compr. will have to get this part, putting a smaller belt will not work cause it will rub on some thing else, also compr will have to be remove for this part to bolt on in it's place.
