  • Well you can replace it but for saftey visit a electrician, if they can replace the carbon or rewind the motor to a cheaper price do so so that you will save money.

2002 mercury cougar overheats at idle and when drove faster ik head gasket isnt blown, thermostat , water pump, relay, its been flushed out till clean idk whats wrong at all.

I suspect that if you do not have electric fan/s then the fan clutch or viscous fan hub has failed
indications are over heating at idle , stop lights , slow traffic, high rpms at slow speed but cools down as soon as there is enough road speed to put air through the radiator.

My 2002 dodge Durango makes a loud roaring noise when I first start it in the morning. And does it when I drive. Its a little loud then the normal. What causing it?

check to see if it has a viscous fan hub. if so then it is the hub action doing what it is sup[posed to do. When the engine is shut down for a period of time the fluid is allowed to flow back to the drive section of the unit . ON start up it virtually locks the hub so that the fan is travelling at full engine rpm and the noise you hear is the air flow through the radiator After about 30 seconds to a minute the fluid is pumped back to the reservoir and the fan hub drive slips and the fan slows down and the noise goes. IT will come and go on a properly operating hub as the coolant temperature engages and disengages the hub drive . You should notice it at stop lights , slow moving traffic and hard work at high rpms.

Heater blower motor starts off blowing then slows down then stops. what can be the problem?

1) Your blower is getting bad, the motor starts out normal, as it get going the blower motor becomes hot and shut down 2) You have debris stuck in the blower fan, you need to locate the blower and clean the airway if it is clogged. 3) Checking your relay, as relay could be bad and not providing the voltage to it.

When car picks up speed the heat blows. when u stop or slow down. cold air blows

Tell me when you speed up is the heater set on hot and high speed?????
WHEN you slow down is the fan still going at the same speed or dose it go very slow when on idle.
If the Fan stays on high but runs cold when going about 80 in top but when you speed up it gets hot and then back off slightly then its sounds like Water pump isent pumping the water around the engine correctly ,but then it should make the engine run overheated.or it could be a slipping fanbelt, but then that should make the Alternator to make a noise,so {throttle to 2000 rpm from idle standind still} and see if there's a noise coming from the water pump area.
The belt should have just a little free movement more on the longest part of the belt(a very little about 1/8' movement
So check it out and let ne know how you get on .

OUR 04 TRAILBLAZER, THE A/C STOPPED WORKING, IT WOULD WORK SOMETIMES AND BLOW COLD AIR NOW NOTHING COMES OUT, OR THE HEATER TOO.. LITTLE AIR WILL PULL THROUGH IF ON THE HIGHWAY, I CAN HEAR IT CLICK OVER...

a couple of things,1 blower motor fuse.2 blower motor gone out.3 switch on fan speed control switch not sending signal to fans.after checking the fuses.next check theswitch on control panel.set ac or heater.if fan still doesnt come on then replace it.when it work and then stops working there are a lot of possiblities that caused the prob relay too not fliping over inside staying close loop.hope this helps.
