It is a dealership you bought it from. Deffiniatly look up lemon laws for your state! They are alot harder on dealerships then private citizens.

SOURCE: 2000 pontiac sunfire coolant pours out from the

Sounds like you bought a complete lemon. Most states have lemon laws where if there are untold problems previous owner must pay to fix or buy vechile back. As for the current problem, hopefully it's just a water pump causing car to overheat. Piece of advice, always take car to a mechanic before buying. Might cost you $40 to do so, but better then paying for unexpected problems.

I need to see if a 2200 engine out of a 1998 sunfire will fit in a 2000 sunfire that had a 2200 engine. if so what if any thing needs changed or modified?

u should consult a dealer about the demensions, u may run into trouble because the ECU's have changed over that amount of time

2000 Chevy Malibu- check engine light

Have the DIS module checked and the coil pack for cyl 3. If either/both of those need replaced, have it done and have the codes cleared. Then see if it clears the others.

You may need a TPS (throttle position sensor) as well.

MY 97 PONTIAC SUNFIRE IS BURNING A LOT OF GAS

Is the check engine light on? If you have a sensor that is bad, it will cause bad fuel mileage. Especially if it is an oxygen sensor. It might just need a tune-up.
