Engine missing --started missing all of a sudden . replaced plugs and cam sensor in dist.. Roter and dist. cap and wires in good shape. Had a test on the engine, said that it was miss fireing at several cyl. It wil start to miss and back fire if i put the gas down fast. If i put the gas easy it will run pretty good. I had a test put on it a week ago and the code was P-01351 Manu factor control ignition system or misfire?? I had it tested 4 mo ago and code was P0172 and P0420, I replaced the 3 oxygen sensor and the cat. conveter, but still had a little miss when idle and was with the air condition on.

Were any of those parts faulty ? Did you test any of them first ?
Since you have replaced the ignition system the next phase would be fuel injectors and mechanical parts.
Have you run a compression test yet ?

2000 chevrolet silverado 1500 4.3l v6 misses at 2000 rpm and now wont start

It sounds like u have a cam correlation problem... Take ur cap off mark where ur rotor is pointing on the dist. Mark the firewall where the dist plug is pointing take the 10mm bolt out n look @ the dist gear and see how bad it's worn!! When u take the cap off some times they're so bad when u move the rotor u can tell the excessive play hope this helps!!!!

2004 ford 6.0 cranks over but will not start , has fuel at filter

You need to make sure the engine is getting gas to your injectors. Now, if the engine is getting gas, you need to make sure you are getting spark. There are many things that can cause a vehicle to not start. Your timing belt/chain may be broken. You could have a bad cam sensor and crank sensor. It may be in the plugs/coils, wires, distributor, dist.cap, roter, ecm. You just need to check each possibility the best you can. Some can be visually inspected and some will need tested. If you have a question, feel free to ask me.

After battery went dead my car won't start, it is turning and all my lights are working but there are no spark

You might want to look into checking the cam sensor and the distributor, dist cap, and roter. Make sure the cap has the contacts and it is not damaged. Make sure the roter spins while you are cranking the vehicle. Check your sensor and make sure it has power.

NO SPARK PUT A NEW COIL ON DID NOT FIX TOOK IT TO A GSRAGE SAID IT NEEDED A CRANK SENSOR CAM SENSOR WIRES PLUGS DIST CAP AND ROTER RAN ONE DAY NOW THEY SAID A HOLE DISTRIBUTER AND A TIMEING BELT.I REALLY...

If you are sure they said, a distributer cap a roter and a distributer, there is a problem! Because on a 1998
plymouth, there is no distributer or cap or roter.
Your cam sensor along with the crank sensor-temp sensor and a few other sensors, send a signal to the
powertrain control module, that sends a signal to the
coil pack(that you said was replaced) that fires the
spark plug. I would hold off from having any further
work done there, until you can check out what they
say they have already done. Ask if you can have the
old parts they replaced so far. You will want to have
an OBDII scan test done, to see what codes come up. It should have one of the first tests they did.
If I have read your post correctly, have them write an
estimate for what they will replace next. This info. is
based on the car being a 1998 plymouth and not a
1988 I would not wan't to acuse somone of anything
based on a typo. Hope this helps. Good luck.

My 1995 Dodge Caravan 3.3v6 has jumped time. The first time in I put new cam and crank grears and new chain. alined crank and cam @6 & 12. Did not know about the color links. Went in the 2nd time and...

Pull the spark plug from #1 cylinder. Cut a piece of
straight coat hanger wire about 8" long,(enough so it can't fall into the cyl.)insert the wire into the cylinder.
Have a helper turn the crank until the piston is at the
top of it's stroke.(using the wire to gauge the pistons position) remove dist. cap and turn the camshaft until
the roter is set to fire #1 cylinder. Now check your
timing gear marks, if they line up, your at TDC if not
bring the crank around again. You can do the piston
roter position test before you tear it down again.
this will give you an idea of where your at on the mechanical end of this. But first hook up an obdII
and see if the cam and crank sensors show codes.
Hope this helps. Good luck.

'95 nissan quest stalled at a stop. Will not start, only cranks

I worked on a '93 Quest last year. Couldn't find out why it wouldn't start. It was the distributor shaft not held onto its rotating gear. The roll pin had come out of the gear on the end of the distributor shaft. When the distributor cap was off, the rotor was turning with the shaft while the engine was cranking. So I thought that was okay. But when I put my finger on the rotor and it stopped turning, that is when I found out the problem. It's a stretch, but maybe the techs missed it. Take the cap off, and if you can spin the rotor either way just by hand, the distributor gear has come loose.

Looks like they really covered a lot. I suppose next they will you to replace the ecu. Good luck.
