Check your Transmission Fluid level first, make sure it is at the full mark.

If the problem persists, you either have debris that has clogged the flow of fluid, or your transmission has started to fail. When a transmission is starting to fail, a few gears can still work. If this is the case, you need it rebuilt/repaired or replaced.

Sorry for the bad news. Cross your fingers that you only have low fluid.

Why when i put in drive and go it goes into 1 or2 or drive by it self while driving

It always starts out in first, it's a 3 speed automatic, that's what automatics do. they start out in first and at about 15-20 miles per hour , they shift to second gear, and when the speed is about 35-45 MPH, the transmission automatically shifts into third gear, or Drive.

Bigger automatics have 4 or more speeds. Till recently, 4 speeds were the norm, and fourth gear was often dubbed Overdrive, as it allowed the engine to run slower in 4th gear, than it had to maintain speed in 3rd gear, drive. It's good, it increases your mileage per gallon of gas, so you save that way, but like all things more complicated, they cost more to fix when something goes wrong.

My 92 cadillac deville shift at 30 miles per hour and again at 60 do you think its my transmission speed sensor

its very possible ,that's where tranny gets info to shift all your main gear shifting should be done by 35 mph and after 55 is overdrive the other is if you take it for a drive and manualy shift it out from lowest gear to highest and see how it functions, so you can feel the shifting advance then try it again just in drive only and see if you can feel the gears shift out , have you serviced tranny ? is it a high millage car it is 23 years old ,

Car wont go 30 mph

if when you get to 30 miles per hour the rpms are excessively high then the 3rd gear on you're transmission is out. you can try changing the transmission filter and fluid but most likely will not help and you will have to replace the transmission or have it rebuilt anyways. I'm assuming its an automatic transmit ion and therefore if high rpms at 30 miles per hour its sadly the transmission

What does warning light "A/T Oil Temp warning light mean

I Would Say It Means Automatic Transmission Fluid Is Hot ,So Check Its Level There should Be a Dip Stick For This If Not Then i Would Think something Is Wrong in The Gear box Or The Gearbox Oil Cooler If Fitted Could be An Integral Part Of The Radiator.

Overdrive light is on, transmission want go into 4th gear

THE TRANSMISSION IN THE MODEL IS ELECTRONICALLY CONTROLLED SO WHEN A PROBLEM LIKE THIS OCURRS IT IS IMPORTANT THAT YOU HAVE THE COMPUTER CONTROL UNIT SCANNED FOR FAULT CODES. I THINK IN YOUR CASE YOU WILL NEED TO REPLACE A PART CALLED THE "VEHICLE SPEED SENSOR", IT SENDS A SIGNAL TO THE COMPUTER TO INDICATE WHEN OVERDRIVE CAN BE ENGAGED, THIS IS ABOUT 35 MILES PER HOUR IN MOST MODELS.

Transmission will not shift out of second gear. Cannot drive on freeway as I cannot drive this car over 45 miles per hour.

If flushing the transmission fluid doesn't help (and I'm sure it won't), replace the transmission.
