This means theres a parasitic load on the battery (something using battery power when its not supposed to) sadly this is a very complex problem that could be a variety of different things. the best i can do from my computer is tell you to look for any lights that are on when there not supposed to be, check your fuses, any engine components that use electricity, look for chaffed wires that could be shorting, anything and everything you can.

also, if you have access to a code reader (autozone does free ones) there might be a stored code in the computer thats not illuminating the MIL (check enine light) that could point you in the right direction.

hope this helps!

2010 Honda Odessey Handicap Van won't start after sitting for a couple of days. Have a new battery best from Sears. Mileage is @7K miles. and we don't use the van to often.

Not clear what is happening but you say it does not run a lot of miles. I do know even with a new battery the van must run every once in a while to keep the battery charged up. Batteries run down just sitting and has to run at least a number of miles to charge up. I suggest you purchase a little battery charger that you can leave hooked up to the battery all the time and when you want to use the van just pull the plug out of your extension cord. Then plug it back in when you are back home. That way you know the battery is charged fresh all the time. You might want to have the battery checked for power just to make sure the battery is operating properly. Any place that sells batteries should do this for free.

What is causing battery drain?

How long does the van sit between use? I have a 92 GMC Vandura with a 5.7 engine. If I let it sit too long it needs a jump even with a 2 yr old bat. The computer is taking the juice even when sitting. There could be other issues, dirty connections, the alternator could have a bad component letting power to bleed off slowly. My Van does not have those issues but mine sits for months sometimes.

Van turns over but wont start. This occurs intermitantly.

suspect the starter, yes it's turning but may not be engaging to the flywheel. suggest have the battery tested too , free from auto parts store, specially if 4-5 yr. old. also get the trouble code if there's.

Battery seems to drain in a few hours

If the auto parts store tested your starting and charging systems of your van then they should have noticed an above average current draw when the van was turned off, if not then it is possible that the starter is dragging when it is cool. you need to remember that newer vehicles need a higher static voltage to run all the electronics needed to make your van start and run. This is the best advise I have with the limited info.

Alternator? Van has been draining batteries and now wont start

Jump start your van, with a volt meter check voltage at battery with engine running and jumper cable disconnected, you will be checking alternator out put voltage there, should have a reading of not less then 13.5 volt's, if less replace alternator, alternator is not hard to replace. two or three bolts is all that holds it in place, don't forget to disconnect battery before removing alternator.
