You probably just got a faulty coolant level sensor. if you have no leaks and lots of fluid that is 99.9% chance its the problem. it wont hurt you car but it does get annoying

Coolant level - repeating message

Sometimes the float that tells the sensor how much fluid is in the tank sinks. When it sinks it is giving the impression that the tank is empty giving you that low coolant warning. You will have to replace the tank.

My 2001 cadillac deville has check coolant level

If you added the green anti freeze to you system it will make the check coolent level light come on. Drain the system and use the extended life anti freeze and that will fix the problem.

My oldsmobile aurora 1996 keeps saying low coolant level and is leaking.

It's the upper and lower manifold gaskets, take it to a service shop and get them to replace your manifold gaskets, it's not the water pump

Service engine soon light came on what could it be. Car still runs good. only 65,000 miles on the car.

Check the coolant resevoir. When the coolant level gets low, that will trigger the check engine sensor to come on. If the level is low, just add a little anti-freeze/water mix too it.

The coolant sensor light is on

The coolant sensor liight come on when the Anti-freeze get low. Just top off the ant-freeze and the light will go out. It is norrmal for anti-freeze level to go down but slow. Toping off once or twice a year is ok but anymore then that you really should check for leaks. Low anti-freeze will cause over heating. Over heating can wreak an engine.

sounds like you have an air pocket in the coling syutem, there is a bleed valve by the water pump, open it unitl you get no air only fluid. then top off radiator and then top off coolant reservoir. If air pocket developes again sounds like a blown head gasket which is common on this make and model engine..

93 grand cherokee 5.2 V8, red square flashing on VIC display

Your VIC doesn't provide you with codes per se, it supplies other information and what you describe here is what should be written on your VIC, "Coolant Sensor Bad." The actual Coolant Sensor runs to your PCM or computer and your check engine light will come on if it runs at or above 5 volts or below 0.1 volts. If the red square on the vehicle layout is illuminated under the hood area, it means that your Coolant Recovery jug is either low on anti-freeze or the sensor next to the yellow filler cap is faulty...meaning you're low on Coolant and the VIC says that the "Coolant Sensors Bad" yet it's the amount of fluid in the plastic bottle next to the passenger side firewall, right in front of your PCM or computer. If you're low on anti-freeze, keep an eye on it, or have the coolant system pressure tested...including the 18 pound cap on the radiator itself. Also check the two wires hooked to the Coolant LEVEL Sensor in the jug with an Ohmmeter and it should be an open circuit if the level is fine, or hardly any Resistance if the level is low, causing that circuit to complete it's ground circuit and thus signaling the VIC through your BCM to turn on. (Body Control Module). The Haynes Manual you will need is # 50025 which encompasses all Jeep Grand Cherokee's from 1993 thru 2004.

Anti freze place

there will be a cap on top of your radiator and also a reservoir tank near the firewall that will be a semi transparent container holding either orange or green coolant (do not mix the two colors)

03 saturn ion coolant message

I have a 2005 Ion that had been displaying the "coolant" message for quite some time. The car runs perfectly, never overheats and the coolant bottle is always full to the "cold fill level" line when cold and slightly higher than that when hot due to the expansion of the fluid. (all completely normal) I had a strong feeling that the coolant level sensor in the coolant bottle was bad and had read about how it needed to be replaced by a tech and all but I wonderred if there was a way to defeat the sensor since I check my levels all the time anyway because the sensor was really just giving false info anyway. I couldn't find a tread involving a Saturn that talked about a solution other than having a tech charge me lots of money to replace the whole bottle. I found a way to bypass the sensor for a BMW though and thought I would try it. It worked perfectly. I plan on replacing the bottle eventually but right now money is tight and I don't need the sensor to tell me what my own eyes and my car's temperature gauge can tell me for now. Here's how you do it.

1. Unplug the sensor harness from the bottom of the coolant bottle.

2. Find a large paper clip and use needle nose plyers to make a "staple" shaped jumper that is about 1/4 inch wide (about the distance between the two contacts on the harness) and about 3/8 inch long.

3. push the jumper you just made into the end of the harness connector.

4. Start your car and ensure that the warning is no longer displaying. You can also insert the jumper while the car is running (be careful, the coolant bottle will be hot) because the harness is removed from the sensor the coolant warning should already be displayed. When you insert the jumper the message should go away imediately. The coolant level sensor has only one job and that is to tell the computer when coolant is low so you don't have to worry that you may be causing any other problems by doing this. If the coolant light doesn't go away you may have a break in the wire somwhere or a bad connection to the jumper.

5. If all works well, use electrical tape to seal up the end of the harness so moisture doesn't get in. Also it's a good idea to secure the harness to something nearby so that it doesn't flop around when you are driving.

All done. Sorry this was long but I hope that it helps someone. That warning really has been irritating me.

Keep in mind that this method does disable a key safety device that is designed (poorly) to warn you in the even of a coolant leak. Keep an eye on your temperature gauge and check your coolant level regularly. Get the bottle replaced when you can.
