Was it doing this before you tuned it up, or is it possible you have some plug wires crossed? It could be a bad camshaft, flat lobe will make it backfire, usually backfires though the carburator.

Ever since I put an otr on my v6 alloytech it seems to stall on me and run like garbage, is there anyway to fix the problem with out getting a tune?

You fix the problem by putting the original air box, filter and plumbing back on the engine. If you want optimum air flow then change the stock filter element with a new one every 12 months. That is all you need to do.

You should now also get some mass air flow sensor cleaner and give the MAF a clean while you are rectifying what you have done because if you have used an oiled K and N filter in the OTR you may well have some oil deposits from the filter on the MAF sensor as well by now. These KN filters also let considerably more dirt particles into the inlet manifold than stock air filters do as independent tests have shown conclusively.

What could cause jerking and stalling at the same place on my route every week or so on my 92 buick century 3.3

How long since a tune up? Definitely add some fuel injector cleaner to the gas tank...maybe 2 bottles...I prefer Luca Oil injector cleaner...Walmart sells this the cheapest...also sludge in tank? Add a bottle of HEET to the gas tank to help dry up moisture,,,water...Change air filter and clean out (spray) throttle body...near the air filter inlet...also spray out mass air flow sensor...be sure to use MASS Air flow sensor spray only...does not damage the sensor...better mileage, smooth idle...hope this helps.

Will idle but when ingage clutch and give it gas it spits and sputters and dies?

Sounds like coil packs are shot! Suggest replace and it should run great. The coil pack it what sets the fuel injectors to perform at peak proficiency on post 1990s cars because they did away with the distributor & rotor (use to be able to just turn distributor to rev it up or down "my wife use to be able to adjust the old ones".)

Get a full tune up, how is your gas millage? if your gas millage is bad then you should suggest changing your o2 sensors.

I have a 1993 pontiac bonneville that goes really slow between 20 to 40mph and i have cleaned the mass air flow sensor and the problem persists. The service engine light comes off and on, and the security...

have vechicle code scan, faulty mass air flow sensor will cause engine run poorly stall out.sound like transmission could be slipping not going in over drive if vechicle cant go over 40 miles an hour.change transmission fluid and filter see it helps. mass air flow sensor has to be replaced most people try clean them but best to replace them.

Car idles rough and sputters when I give it gas I have replaced fuel filter and mass air flow sensor still having problems

this sounds like theres not enough fuel preasure or a bad sparkplug wire or coil, put gauge on the fuel rail and check the preasure, if its good then a tune up may be needed,
