I own a 2000 VW Jetta. Radio completely Dead

Have you checked the radio fuse? You may have blown the fuse when you jumped the car. The fuse box should be out under the hood encased in black plastic.

2000 VW Beetle - had to jump the battery and when it restarted the radio doesn't work and the fuses are not blown and it doesn't show SAFE or anything on the radio.

2000 Beetle radio has a 10amp fuse at its rear left. have to remove radio to get to it. removing and returning radio is not easy. let me know if you need help with that as i have done this repeatedly on two different 2000 beetles and finally have it downpat. of course you need radio code, have found an article on how to disable VW radio anti-theft code but have not tried it yet.

Only high beams work

My wife owns a 2001 beetle so the vehicles should be identical. So, in the driver side when you open the door and remove the fuse panel, the low beam fuses are the two blue 15 amps in the very upper right hand corner (not side by side, up and down) however, on the new beetles the headlights are individually fused, so if both the headlights went out at once it could be the switch rather than the fuse, moreover, it could also be the bulbs themselves, which is somewhat difficult, but possible, to do yourself. If it is the bulbs, post again and I can walk you through it. If not, try calling a VW service department, hopfully you can get a tech that will talk to you and is not afraid about giving you information instead of telling you 'you have to bring it in for me to diagnose the problem' (with one hand in your wallet). I hope I helped. Please let me know haw things go.

Fuse Diagram VW Jetta 2007

I'd get a fuse , same amp as what's in the wiper slot and put it in one of the empty slots at a time & try it. When it runs, you found the right spot, right, or is it not that simple?
