This usually means that you are down on brake fluid, check the reservoir on the drivers side near the firewall. If you find that you are down on fluid it means that your brakes need attention soon, the abrasive material on the pads or shoes has worn and the void left by the missing material has caused your brake fluid reservoir to go down low enough to put up a warning light ,which is good for you because you now know the brakes need to be looked at soon.If the brake fluid is not low then you need to get the codes read for the abs and then deal with what ever set the codes,an obd2 can not read brake fault codes so it needs to go to a repair shop that has a scanner with that ability.

The ABS system can be tested for the fault code that is stored whenever the ABS warning light comes on, while this ligfht is on the system is just regular non ABS brakes, in your case based on the symptom you have u may have a brake master cylinder leaking internally or a failing ABS hydraulic control unit, both these parts are very expensive, so the fault code test of the ABS system be done, guessing is just to expensive, any brake shop or the dealer can run this ABS system test for the fault code.

You most likely have a problem in the brake system, most likely the brake liners. The brakes are most likely worn down, possibly to the metal, but never the less, the a b s light has come on because of the time it takes to come to a stop, reason being, the brake liners need to be replace,or repaired.

O k,then it is either a bad abs sensor,or there is air still in the system. If it has rear shoes, make sure they are adjusted up correctly, but I would consentrat on the air in the system.Bleed the system again, start at the master cylinder, then the right rear, left rear right front, and then the left front, this is the best way to relieve all the air in the system,if this does not fix the problem, the master maybe defective.I am sure all the rotors where resurfaced, and or,drums.

My brake light switch is broken

Its on the brake pedel you need to remove a clip from the end of the pin that slides through the pedel and the brake switch then the pin then the connecter . Install in reverse order .
However before removeing anything you should look to see if there is an adjustment for the switch . You see the brake light olny comes on if you push on the pedel most have adjustments on them because its an on demand thing so the light could be on if your not pushing the pedel or it could not come if you are pushing the pedel or it could not come on at all pushing or not pushing to pedel .You need to figure witch condution you actully have .

Brake and tail lights out

Im not sure if i understand exactly what you mean .You are saying that the brake lights and the tail lights don't work. But the first thing i would check would be the brake switch. Witch is located on the top of the brake pedel . Its like a light switch in your house its on or off and also most of the time has an ajustment that you could turn a nut if its not touching between the master cylinder rod and the pedel that you are pushing with your foot when you hit the brakes. If the switch is bad witch isn't uncommon its an inexpensive part about 10 dollars . And you need to remove a clip that holds a pin that slides through the upper part of the brake pedel then the switch will come out and is easly replaced ; But test it first like i said its like a light switch its on or off theres no half way and its likely your problem

(4x4)I replaced all the steel brake lines from the junktion block on the frame by gas tank forward.Bled,Bled and Bled, when comming to a slow stop, pedel gets hard' there's a ratchiting sound (ABS Pump?)and...

The problem here is air in the ABS system, you must get the ABS hydraulic control unit bled, this can't be done with a special tool that holds open the poppet valves to each wheel so the air can be completely bled out. You must have the brakes bled at a shop OR the dealer that has this tool or its equivalent. There is no way around using the bleeding tool on this ABS system. I get this question over and over on FixYa.

My stop lights wont go off. Stay on all the tima.

There is a button above your brake pedel that probably isn't being pushed in all the way by the brake pedel to shut them off. Try pulling up on the brake pedel and have someone watch to see if they go off when you do that. If so the button for the brake pedel needs to be adjusted so it shut them off when the pedel is not pushed.

Went through car wash and after the abs light went off so i thought got some mouisture some were but when you get out of truck the break lights stay on?its a 97 nissan pick up 2wd automatic

there is a plastic button that the brake light switch pushes against when the pedel is NOT being pressed . If it has falling out there is nothing to press on the switch in which case the brake lights would stay on also is one of the signals the abs uses

Make sure the pads are installed correctly. There is an inner and an outer. make sure the hardware is lubricated with some brake lube. For the ABS/Traction lights, you will need a scan tool to find out what is going on.
