Remove rear driver's side door panel, 2004 Pontiac Grand AM

I'm trying to remove both the driver's side rear door panel and the passengers side rear door panel of a 2004 Pontiac Grand Am. Both Windows have fallen off their tracks and i'm capable of fixing that, but i'm having trouble taking the panel itself off. Any advice?

I'm looking for the cover, but can't find any, although I think I know of the screws you are talking about. When I removed the cover from the handle to open the door from the inside, I could see into the panel and noticed a screw holding a metal bar , and I assume there is one on each side. I could get the top screw, but there isn't any noticeable panel to remove. Could this be due to the fact that I have automated windows (forgot to mention), there is another screw at the bottom I could get out. Once I remove these screws, does the panel just kind of snap off?

If it has power windows then remove the window switch. You can usually use a small flat blade screw driver and pry on an edge and it should lift up.If it has a manual handle then there is a special tool to remove it.You can get one at any parts store.Remove the trim around the handle. This should also pry off with the small screw driver.

There is a screw in the arm rest hole of the pull handle and also a screw behind the reflector.Remove the reflector and the screw. There should also be a screw inside where you removed the window switch. Then just use a medium flat blade screw driver and starting at the bottom pry out and work your way around. You will see the plastic retainers if you pry it out slightly and look in the panel. Then just lift up on the panel and remove it.Hope this helps.Good luck.

The inside door handle, not the one u pull to open the door but the one u use from the inside to pull the door shut so u can close it. that handle has a flat cover (almost impossible to tell it has a cover); use something to pull it off, and you will find 2 screws in there that are keeping the door panel from being pulled out; use the right screw driver to unscrew and pull the door panel from corner by corner. hope this helps, have a nice day

Check wiring harness in between door and body, most likley there is a broken wire in this harness.
To get the window up you will need to remove the panel and apply a power and ground direcly to the moter connector. if it does not go up then reverse the polarity

I had a problem similar to this but mine was in a GT and they would just work when they wanted to. I just had all the wires cut leading to the front passenger seat, back driver seat, and back passenger seat. And left the wires on the main. They all work perfect now. But the downside is that the driver is the only one who can put the windows down. (Which isn't always a bad thing) Hope I could help!

They have kits you can buy to remove the door panel but when you do it, be careful and go slow, make sure not to break off the clips on the door panel otherwise it wont fit right when you want to put it back in. im not so sure about the mirror though.

Driver side mirror 2004 Pontiac Grand Am

On the inside trim, you can remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. You'll need to lift the door panel upwards in order to get it off the window ledge. Then you'll need to manipulate the panel and disconnect the door handle linkage from the door handle and disconnect the wiring for your controls. Then you can access the bolts that secure the mirror onto the door
