Use a Haynes repair manual, they have better pictures than Chilton and show 2 different 3.8 for 1997, also check to make sure plug wires are not on touching exhaust manifold, that happened to mine once and I had mutiple cylinder misfire trouble code. Most libraries have hanes manuals on shelf if you don't want to spend the extra money right now.

3.1 firing order 95 camaro

according to GM they did not put a 3.1L in a 1995 camaro, they used a 3.4L now the 1994 used a 3.1L but it makes no difference they both have the same firing order 1 2 3 4 5 6 easy. but i think what you want is the location of the spark plug wires on the coil packs.

first off lets talk about cylinder placement passenger side from front to back 1 3 5 driver side from front to back 2 4 6

OK, now the coil pack from the end with 2 plug ins 1 4 6 3 2 5

good luck...thanks for using fixya

When I pulled the plugs from 1 coil pack while car 98 camaro

i have a 97 and boy i dont think i would have the balls to do that with my car.
but i believe that could be caused by carbon tracking.. get some carb spray and clean the whole area coil packs and wires..but i haven't ever heard of any one doing that, i did that when i was younger on my 69 charger, i went to reseat the coil wire while running and receievd 20,000volt shock and hit my head and arm on the hood. i dont know which hurt worse!

How do you install coil pack on 98 camaro v6 3800

#1 disconnect neg. bat cable. #2 unplug both leads from the coil your changing. #3 remove both mounting screws and pull up and remove on it to remove it...reverse to install. be careful when removing the screws they're small and you dont want to drop them. hope this helps.

One of the coil packs is not working on a 3800 V 6

have you tried changing the coil pack? they are simply a coil of wires inside. they easily go bad. just to be sure switch one of the coil packs to make sure its not a problem with the wiring, if the problem switches cylinders replace the coil pack
