Difficulty starting with loud tick throwing code

Difficulty starting with loud tick. Throwing code P0300 for 2-4 misfiring cyl. Just changed spark plugs w/o new s.p.wires. Did not start until purchased new tank of gas has 136,000 miles

Had it towed in and changed the spark plug wires and had the oil changed at 2000 miles. It starts fine now but is having the engine opened for bad lifters, hopefully that is all. I had been in sales at the dealership that sold me my the truck with free oil changes for life. I don't think they where changing my filter just topping the oil off. There was a 11/2 inch of sludge in the filter. Of course there is no way to prove the filter was from my truck but they also had no answer for the problems. When I told the G.M. and the service manager they were the only ones to chg the oil I got the "dumb" look. The story here, don't take the free oil and filter changes at dealerships even from friends. Thanks for the help.

Sometimes problems occur after an event, but isn't always related. Have you checked the coil that supplies voltages to # 2 & 4 cylinder?

Ignition coil is the problem.

Mercury grand marquis p0351 p0301 p0305 p0306 codes

po301,305 and 306 codes are cylinder misfire codes and the most common problems for them codes are bad coil packs on them engines.
I would suggest pulling them coil packs and inspecting them very closely for any signs of cracks, build up on the metals and inspect the boots for any signs of white tracking! White tracking is a sign that the boots are failing and allowing fire/spark to jump.
Anytime I replace the spark plugs, I always replace the boots! They are very inexpensive and they too fail often!
Hope this helps.

White smoke cylinder misfire and smell of gas on my Volvo 2002 v70xc

4 cylinder? Blown head gasket. 6 cylinder, look to the throttle body. It has coolant lines on it, it can and will corrode though the throttle throwing coolant in the intake. 1 And 2 are the first to misfire. But usually have multiple misfires.

Truck idles but once foot is off the throttle it is shutting off. What might be causing this?

If it runs with the throttle slightly open, Clean the throttle body and IAC motor. Also check or replace the air filter. Break clean and a tooth brush works for the throttle. Takes a second or two to start. Then rev it and spray some break clean in the throttle. Not sure for the wrong engine oil code? What was it?

Cylinder 1 misfire detectedrich or lean air/fuel mixture fuel injecter fault and faulty crank shaft sensor

Wow... Thats a lot of diagnostic codes. First... The cyl #1 misfire will cause the Engine to run rich giving you a rich running engine. Therefore the rich lean code. This misfire on cyl #1 can also throw a crankshaft sensor code as it will slow down engine rpm. I would change the spark plug and ignition coil to cyl#1 and have the codes erased and see if that solves the problem. If not, you then need to persue any codes that may reappear.

2003 4.2 chevy trailblazer what do I do if it is

is it running ok? P0300 is random misfire (P0301 is first cyl, P0304 is 4th....) Check spark plugs and replace dirty ones. Check coil and HT leads.

1998 k1500 5.7 hard miss at 30 to 50 occasional bucking.some times fine.. misfire sensors are all over the place. funny smell. not cat convert smell. plugs all burning nice.

Do you have live data on your scan tool? If so, what are the fuel trims and O2 sensor readings? Do NOT start throwing parts at this.

2003 alero 4cyl. 2.2l throwing a #1 misfire code

TRY MOVING THE WIRE HARNESS TO THE INJECTOR WHILE THE ENGINE IS RUNNING, EVEN STRETCHING IT A LITTLE. THE WIRES CAN BREAK INSIDE THE COVERING AT THE PLUG.

TRY SWAPPING THE #1 PLUG WITH ANOTHER ONE TO SEE IF THE MISFIRE GOES TO THAT HOLE. SAME GOES FOR THE INJECTOR.

LOOK CAREFULLY AT THE COIL HOUSING TO SEE IF THERE ARE ANY CRACKS ALONG THE AREAS CONNECTED TO THE SPARK PLUG. USE A SPARK TESTER ON THE COIL PACK TO CHECK FOR SPARK, THIS MAY REQUIRE THE USE OF SPECIAL PLUG WIRES.

IF NECESSARY DO A COMPRESSION TEST ON THE ENGINE.
