What kind of automatic transmission fluid do i need to use?

Your Scion TC requires Toyota type T-IV auto trans fluid that is a mineral oil based fluid, do not mix with different types of oils. If your fluid is burnt smelling or very dark in color be advised fresh fluid could be a bad thing as fresh detergents could wash away the last remnants of clutch linings.

Leaking transmission fluid in front of eng on excelleration what do i look for thanks dan

Inspect your transmission line to the radiator, the transmission line may be damaged or the O rings have failed and leaking from the radiator cooler.
Keep and eye on the transmission fluid to make sure you don't run low. Low transmission fluid level will cause the transmission to burn up costing you to replace the transmission.
Repair or replace parts that have failed and good luck. Thank you for using fixya

2004 scion xa delayed foward engagement cold, also reverse indicator light flashing on dash when in reverse.fluid and linkage seem fine do I need rebuit trans or can it be fixed

It sounds like there is an internal leak or the fluid level is low.
The fluid should be flushed every 20k miles.
I would have the trani inspected. The dealer can tell you if it will be cheap or not to fix. Go ahead and find out. Don't wait it may make matters worse.

Makes a clicking sound under dash when brakes applied on my daughters 2005 scion

if this car is an automatic, you are probably hearing the shift interlock switch that prevents you from putting the car in gear without applying the brakes.
