If you take the van to advance auto they will check the codes that the computer has loged and tell you what they are for free. if you then post them we will be better able to pin point the source of the problem.

Engine light on all the time

This could be anything so the best thing is to do a scanner check to see what is setting the light on.
Autozone does free scans around here, look around to see if you can find around your area or bring it to your mechanic.

Van dies after driving 3 to 10 miles

It very well could be the fuel pump, alot of time when they are going bad they will do that. If the check engine light stays on while running that would indicate a sensor is bad or maybe just unpluged. you can have a pressure test preformed on your vans fuel system which would tell if fuel pump is bad or not.. If check engine light does not stay on, i would bet it is the fuel pump.

Engine light stays on 2005 Chrylser Town/Country

If the Check Engine light is on, your vehicle will should have fault codes stored in the computer. Have a service tech perform a diagnostics test on your vehicle to extract the codes. This will give you an idea of the problem. My guess... O2 sensor since your vehicle is running fine. Codes will be necessary to verify.

Service engine light stays on

the check engine ligth just means you are not passing emissions right now. Coud be due to loose fill cap at some time, or filling the tank with the key on.
Try disconnecting the battery ground cable for an hour. Then reconnect and drive for 10 miles until computer relearns engine changes. It may run rough for 10 miles.

If still on, go to Autozone and ask them to perform a free computer scan & get the fault code. It will tell you which sysem to check.
