Question about 2004 Mercury Mountaineer
Not officially, but Ford/Mercury is aware of the problem, and there's a "silent recall." We had the same problem last year, discussed it with a service advisor at our Mercury dealer, and received a new piece at no cost.

I have the same question....Thought is was something that I did, but then I noticed another mountaineer with the same exact crack. A guy at an auto parts store said fiberglass should never crack like that. So has anyone attempted to get a dealership to replace the defect?
