Question about 2006 Peugeot 604

1 Answer

Hi - the cenral locking does not work from the key - although the battery was recently replaced - I have tried resetting from the ignition - no luck. Also the central locking has started locking itself and the manual does not work very well taking several attempts to unlock before success - you can imagine how frustrating this is on a cold winters morn! Your thought would be appreciated - is this going to be an expensive job?!

Just making sure i got this correct, it is a 2006 604? if it is that way to reprogram your key is only through the ignition or through a dignostic system which reprograms both, just checking make sure you do this correctly ( not teaching grandma to **** eggs as you said you have tried) first, incert key in ignition , trun ignition on (dont turn over) hold the lock button for 10 seconds (try being precise on the 10 seconds) switch ignition off, remove key, wait 5 or so seconds ( no less than) and that should be it, hope this helped

Did you already re-sync?
"After you change the battery, be sure to put the key in the ignition and start the car so it will re-sync."
"You sync it with the key in the ignition turned to 'ON' and press the UNLOCK button 7-10 times."

This suggests removing key with gear lever in Reverse:

Ignition locked. Key won't turn.

Hi,
Yes when you replaced the batteries in the FOB this will have cleared the system identification for the keys.
So have these reset to your vehicle and then you will have no problems.

Replacing battery

This worked with my truck, hopefully it will with the Camaro:
Connect the battery cables, if you have a key fob for the alarm, press it to turn it off. Use the key to lock and unlock the door. My alarm isn't as new as yours, and was an aftermarket one, so it might not work, and you may have already tried this, but it's worth a shot if you didn't.
Is it a factory installed system or aftermarket? Re-post the question if it doesn't work so someone else can help. Good luck.

The subary has new battery. the car is locked in parking gear.

Sounds like your security system needs reset. The only part I can tell you is that the black box under the dash by the steering column has a little red reset button. That will the least turn your flashers off. You will have to contact Subaru for instructions on how to program your remote again. Good luck And have a good day.

Key not working

Hi, I had similar problems, try this...
Put the key in the ignition push the lock button on your keyfob, pull the key out while holding down the lock button and press the unlock button 5 times. Your key should now be reset and ready for use.

Solved my problem.

How to get key out that is stuck in ignition

Remove steering column shroud(cover)and tap ignition barrel with small hammer while twisting key backwards and forwards, also turn steering wheel backwards and forwards sometimes this is enough to release key as the locking pins in barrel and the steering lock pin do sometimes jam.You will have to remove steering column shroud to replace ignition barrel if tapping/hitting it doesnt work anyway so its not a wasted effort.Good luck, let me know how it works out
