Question about 1986 Mercedes-Benz 300
This may be caused by wiring issues underneath the dashboard. The wires which are related to the issues that you mentioned are located at the same location. Check for loose cabling or exposed conductors. You may need to replace some wires in the process. The problem may not necessarily be under the dashboard. You may have to trace it to the outside. It may save you time if you start underneath the hood for these signs before you go underneath the dashboard. Inspect also all fuses. If you see blown fuses it may be best to pursue inspecting the wiring as a short circuit may have occurred. Either by wire insulator touching the chassis or another exposed wire. The ABS may also be faulty or the sensors are bad and may have coincided with the wiring issues. Check the ABS sensors at the brake hub if fixing the wiring does not solve it.

Firstly I would check the earth battery lead, thats the one from the battery to the car body, ensure the wires are tight and have a good contact, especially the earth to the car body.
Secondly there is another earth wire to the gearbox ensure this has a good contact and make sure no other wires are contacting it.
Thirdly get the battery tested.
Let me know after you have done these things if still no joy get back to me.
