Is 3 litres of castrol gtx too much for a 2005 tazz/carri 1.3? It's about 5 mm about the max mark on the dipstick.

Normally your engine oil capacity is four liters. at the dip stick ,there is a marking "min" and "max" which indicates the level of oil inside your engine. This marking represents one liter capacity. So when you measure it and the oil level is in between the min and max markings that means you need to add half a liter of oil. As in your case its already too much oil and this could lead to a hotter engine.

On what symbol on the dipstick do I know when to add oil on my 2001 330ic ?

there should be 2 lines on the dipstick one near the bottom and one about an inch above it. the bottom line is the minimum level and the upper is the max level.

Peugeot 207 oil level increase

Check to see if gas is getting into the oil which would raise the level. This can happen from flooding, i.e. a leaky injector dumping too much gas or possibly gas blowby past the piston rings and ending up in crankcase. If gas is in the oil most likely an injector is bad. Smell the oil and check to see if it smells like gas and or check viscosity of oil.. thin oil

How do i check a volvo 850 turbo's transmission fluid? do i have engine running? off? in park or neutral? thanks

Check the oil level as follows:

Park the car on a level surface with the engine idling . Slowly move the gear selector lever through all the shift positions and then to position P. Wait 3 minutes before checking the oil level.
As the illustration shows, the dipstick has a COLD and a HOT side. The oil level should between the MIN and MAX marks. Wipe the dipstick with a clean cloth.

WARNING! The oil may be very hot.

Do not use rags that could leave lint on the dipstick. The transmission is topped up via the dipstick tube. The space between the MIN and MAX marks on the dipstick corresponds to 0.5 US qt. (0.5 liter). Do not fill the transmission with too much oil, since this can result in oil being ejected from the transmission. Too little oil, on the other hand, can negatively affect transmission operation, particularly in very cold weather.

A Cold transmission: oil temperature 105° F (40° C). This is a normal temperature for the transmission after idling for about 10 minutes. At oil temperatures below 105° F (40° C), the level may be below the MIN mark.
B Warm transmission: oil temperature 169° F (80° C). This temperature after driving for about 30 minutes. At oil temperatures above 190° F (90° C), the level may be above the MAX mark.

Fluid type: ATF Dexron IIE and Mercon.

02 Volkswagon passat, My oil light cums on flashing yellow for a couple of seconds when i start my car why is this ??

Then the minimum engine oil level has been reached. You should check the engine oil level on the dipstick, and fill up with new oil until maximum level mark on the dipstick, but not above the max. oil mark!
Then everything will be all right, and oil yellow light will turn off.

Today my EPC light came on during driving, the engine "lowered" in rpm, I realeased the gas and the light came off. What is the problem? I noticed that I have about 0,4 liter to much oil in, could this be...

It is a problem with engine oil level. This can affect EPC light. NEVER you must fill up engine oil above the "max" mark of the oil dipstick !!! If oil level is above "max" there is risk of damage to Three Way Catalitic Converter !!! You must bring oil level at "max" mark of dipstick, but under no condition above !!!

Over filled with oil. lifters knocking

You will get low compression and oil will blow-by and cause a smoke storm cloud behind your truck.
You can get a fluid pump to pull out excess oil through the dipstick.
same happened to me, truck is tough and fine...no bailout needed :)
